Cars off to the gl*** shop tommorow...just got the oil changed tonight and I ordered a couple new blower gaskets that will be here wed and a seatbelt for my sons c****at. I smell smoke..Im going to be in the show "not preregistered" but Im going to try to get in at the gate (cant wait!!!) My big plans are the enjoy this car as a driver! I didnt want a show car or something that I was scared to drive in case it got a "ding" A new trans will be in the future and a bunch of nick nacks but as far as big stuff nothing as of now...might see what it looks like someday without a front bumper well see....
Oh and a couple pics tonight wife caught me in the garage... other pics are really to show how the car barely fits lengthwise in the garage but I LOVE IT!!!! Im waiting for the insurance to kick in so I can get the new plates and drive but man it feels good to see an older guy throw thumbs up while mowing his lawn or have a neighbor say that a 1956 belair was his first car and me pulling up brought back so many good memories..all the small stuff that really adds up
man I love those cragers your going to have lot of fun with that 56 I have had mine for 36 year's and still having fun with it......
congrats on your '56 buy. You'll have a blast with your family in it. I think out of all my cars, my kids and friends like riding in the old chevy best.
waiting for insurance should be ready tommorow so I can get my plates and get out there....well after my gl*** gets done
got insurance, tags, registration and ***le stuff all done today.....now shes at the gl*** shop getting rid of some horrible styling idea. Should get her home mid week in time for new plugs, blower gaskets, blower oil and some little stuff! Gettin her all ready for the drive down to billetproof!
Well should get the car back tommorow just in time to install a seatbelt for the c****at and get some tune up/gasket stuff done...Am I the only one excited for billetproof?
Below is a video of the 56 with the headers uncapped...was curious to what it would sound like so....enjoy Well got the plugs changed out and puttin blower gaskets on it, seatbelt for my son, new thermostat change all the fluids etc.... Got the car back from the gl*** shop!!! Man does it make a difference without the 80's rose etched vent and quarter gl***...LOOKS MUCH BETTER!
You know I sort of felt bad that you had to get rid of your Model A. I was like "damn that's what happens when you have a family huh?" Now I'm sort of thinking that I should not feel bad but jealous. That '56 is ****ing awesome dude!! I think your are way ahead now and everything worked out for the best times 10!!! It's sounds so nasty I'd swear judgment day is around the corner.
Thanks guys for the kind comments Im in love with this car!!! I got my sons seatbelt in, new front blower gasket on, finished changin out the fluids new plugs etc....everythings lookin great for billetproof! Pops stopped by and we were doing a little tuning tonight after the stuff that had to get done...My son is in love with this car he found his own little perch while I was working underhood...heres another video with full exhaust after tuning..its dark but youll get the idea if you turn that volume up!!! (Also got my whitedevil hamb tag on...so no one has an excuse not to say HI at billetproof!!!!)
Great looking car.56s are great, you don't see as many of them as you do the 55s or 57s.I have been building mine for about 10 years. Are you going to eventually put side trim back on it?
Got the beast ready for billetproof everythings in working order "what a long day" and getting ready to hit the sack wife and I are leavin jax beach around 5am!!! See yall there and say HI!!!!
Well It was an fun show...little cold and a little wet but hell it was a good time! Hot Turkey won best of show with his 32 ford which was well deserved and the 56 made it down and back with no problems thats what I call a good day!!!
That is sick! 2 doors 4 speed blown smallblock cragers! What else would a red blooded car freak want in a tri-5?
Very nice car. Best of luck with it. It's tough to beat a '56 Chevy, my personal favorite of the "Tri-Fives".
Your car kicks ***! It was great to finally meet you face to face. Thanks again for the magic shammy!
