Somebody need's to fill that thing with water before someone fall's in and get's hurt.
But seriously very nice truck, enjoy the extended warm month's of cruising.

  13. Whitey,

Yes ... My dad started building the original "HEMI32" in 1954 ... the pic in my (old) avatar:

... was taken when my dad was in college (University of North Dakota) ... circa 1957.

My father (aka "Duece Bruce" Olson) passed away in October 1990. I became care-taker of "HEMI32" on my 32nd birthday (1993).

Several other HAMBers have PMed me to say that they are building a car similar to my father's coupe ... Pop's would be flattered ... but you all should know that the inspiration for his car was actually Lynn Yakel's 5-window ... as featured on page 72 & 73 of "Hot Rods TREND BOOK NO. 102" (1951):

... albeit pops chose to run a Chrysler Hemi vice a flat motor like the Merc in Yakel's.

Anyway ... we're getting way off topic here [but at least I didn't post any pics of skate parks here in sunny Cali :D] ...

Pop's would have loved your 31 P.U.!!! ... In fact, every year at the Goodguy's West Coast Nats (Pleasanton, Ca), I pick a car for the "Bruce Olson Memorial Award" ... your 31 is just the type of Bitchin' (traditional and/or survivor) car that I pick in honor of my late father.

    i love it!

that being said, my girlfriend is the kind of woman who thinks that cars have to be modern for her to be seen in them (thats the ONLY thing i do not like about her)......she was in here whan i looked at this earlier and i was joking with her and was like "if i had that, would you be seen in it" and she was like "yah, but thats just a play toy, you dont need something like that"

I love your truck, and its fenderless, Where are all the fenderless truck bashers that say these were never around "back in the day" Those old pics and that truck prove them all wrong. That truck is awesome!! thanks for sharing them and good luck with your move.

i have seriously been considering building something like this for a parts hauler, am debating between soemthing along these lines, basically the same but as a RPU, or just building my 56 chevy as a shop truck...

the bed would be small if i went this route, but i could always build a small trailer to haul larger stuff on....
