Seems like it wouldn't be that hard for an experienced gl*** worker if you had a mould. Have even seen hobbyist sites selling moulds for amateurs to use (to make dishes).

What are the moulds made of and how hard would it be to make one?

Back in the olden days the depression gl*** dishes I mentioned were made in steel or iron molds. I'd ***ume auto manufacturers also used steel or iron molds. Steel would give a finer finish.

The moulds I use are bronze or aluminum. Most are a 8 pointed star shape for adding detail, shaping and moving the color.

    Gl*** Klim 200lbs of gl*** @ 2000 degrees +/-
Glory Hole 1900 degrees +/- for reheating and mixing in color
Annealing Klim 1100 - 1200 degrees with a 12 to 16 hour cooling off cycle.

A steel two piece mould for a tail light lens will most likely be needed, and kept @ 1100-1200 degrees. I think its doable, but will require least a team of two or more. Tomorrow is gl*** blowing day I'll find out more a keep you posted.
