Eureka! I've always suspected it but now I am absolutely sure! After messing with old cars and hot rods my entire life (8 decades plus) and being called down in a Southern Baptist church service by the preacher while in the middle of his sermon for reading and giggling at a hot rod magazine (with my best bud) at the age of 12 (discovered what eternal life meant after my parents, my bud's parents and others finished with us) I have came to this conclusion--smashed fingers, hands, knuckles, toes, feet, severely burned arms, legs, neck, s***ched cuts all over, and a finger that doesn't straighten--It can only be Wylie E. Coyote of Roadrunner fame! and i've probably used some Acme parts somewhere! Yep, no doubt I've followed his traps for the Roadrunner with my hot rods! You? Merry Christmas

Something like that happened to me, except my Dad was the preacher. Made a lifetime memory.

I identify with the Grinch "if I can't find a reindeer I'll make one instead".

My father was a life long advocate of the Model A Ford.
He was five when the A was introduced.
My step Dad was never one to allow the guy in the next lane to pull out from a light first.
At age 17 he gave me a Dodge Hemi
    A year and a half later he helped me score a '57 210 2 door/ 235+PG
Then came ( we both had sweat equity in it )
    A warmed up 283 and a 4GC, Hurst shifted 3 spd.
My natural father inspired the scene in my avatar, and fueled my hunt to own a '55 Nomad.
Sorry to hear of your conflict:oops:
No one there when I dropped a 283 into a Jaguar

One day in the check out line a PepBoys in Paoli PA the guy pictured above was standing 2 people behind me.
Upon noticing I asked '' Is your name Bill?''.
    He just nodded his Head.

My brush with fame was (around) 1973/74, Jenkins was at Portland International Raceway, he was running one of his first Vvveg#s, I walked by the rear of the car while waiting in the staging lanes and noticed one of the deck lid pin clips was not in place, he noticed and came towards me and I told him about the clip, he goes "don't worry about it".
    Gotta love that guy!

I think I may have turned into my dad. Who I identify with may depend on whom I am with at any given moment. The at***ude and disposition of the people surrounding me can have a huge effect on my at***ude, which can alter whom I may be identifying with at any given time. I can go from a kind, mellow, carefree, old man to a righteous, in your face, madman in a pretty short time frame if I'm surrounded with evil people that do the wrong things.
As I grow older, I tend to walk away instead of engaging with people that rub me wrong, its better for all involved. Don't back this old dog into a corner and expect him to whimper.
