prob my buddy and his 69 440 roadrunner that was also the fastest. i had a lowered, primered 68 f-100 with a built 410FE, at least i had the fastest truck i guess

  3. Mine was one of the best, imho, in 1964.

...not many hot rods in my school, a number of tri5 Chevys, but mostly all just average and uninteresting cars. One buddy did have a nice sbc powered fastback Volvo tudor sedan (544?). Mine and the Volvo were considered the 2 fastest to be sure. Another buddy had a nice mild '53 Ford tudor, but it was not painted by the time we graduated if I remember correctly. I remember one other Model A and one T, but both were original cars. I am sure there were a few Tri-5 Chevys, but none that were fixed up really nicely. ...but remembering all the other guys' cars from 46 years ago is not too easy for this old man. Some of the previous year's graduates had cooler cars by then, but not while still in HS.

Sure wasn't me! I drove a 1946 International 3/4 ton panel truck that I bought out of my uncles field when I was 13. But back then if you had a car to drive to school you were way cooler than the guys who had none!
My best friend had the coolest car in school. We dropped a 413 Mopar and torqueflite into his 55 Chevy, and his dad painted it beer bottle brown metallic. It was the baddest car in school!

It's a throwup between two of my friends. It's either Kolter and his 67 Notchback Barracuda, or Patrick in his 54 Chevy pu.

The only old (all off topic) vehicles are my '72 stepside chevy, a rambler sedan, a '70 200 c.i. auto boss body-kitted stang, and my buddies '67 fastback impala ss. Impala is probably the coolest. Of course a barrage of brand new 35k dollar camaros and mustangs, amongst bimmers, new trucks, and benzes

My first car was a '72 V8 Vega sporting a 327 and reverse shift Powerglide tranny. We later transplanted a 383 stroker backed by a Turbo 400 into it from my buddy's wrecked '71 Chevelle. Fun, fast car to say the least. Before that, I got to take my parents 1970 RT/SE Challenger /w 383 magnum to school occasionally.

    Me...and I didn't know it then.

1951 Mercury 2 door, 390 caddy, Lasalle trans, Olds rear, nosed & decked,
electric trunk release & black & white naugahyde. The car was impressively quick and was just plain cool.Class of 69...and I took it to Woodstock.

My father bought it for $300 & I beat the snot out of it for a year & sold it for $150 with everything i could think of added to the oil to get the OP gauge to register.

    Dang.....the ultimate lead sled!!!

59 Plymouth 4 door inline 6 with 3 speed on column, glass pack muffler. Put an old pool ball on for shift knob. To shift from second to third, just had to push in clutch, ball weighed enough to drop it into gear
Our friend the Chevy dealer had it in the horse pasture behind dealership because they had worked on it and the owner never picked it up. Payed $15 for it and had to clean out the horse droppings because they left the windows open. We did a quickie Whitney rebuild on it and drove it for couple years. Sold it to a friend who drove it for a few more years

I had the coolest car in school! 1972 Pontiac LeMans with a Built 400 & 700r4 with 2.73's. It was actually my dad's high school car after he piled up his 67 Firebird. Long before I turned 16 my parents told me that If I wanted a new car I'd have to pay for it myself or they'd pay for the parts to restore the LeMans if I did the work at my uncles shop. That's also how I got hooked with hot cars! So now I still have my first car that is restored totally cool to get out and stretch it's legs every now and again!

A friend sent me a pic of my car from High School. I worked any job I could get while going to school and paid $1100 for it in 1979. Me on the left.

I drove a '69 Camaro 1991-1994 in high school, It was a pretty cool car, especially when I had it running 12's my senior year.
The coolest in the school to the general public was probably the girl who's parents bought her a 92 Cobra 5.0 5spd and she actually knew how to drive it.

    I was faster though

Does the coolest motorcycle count? I had the coolest 65 Honda Superhawk. Chromed fenders, headlight, engine valley cover. Megaphones, 350 Perrili(sp) rear tire, Bobbed front fender, polished side cases, and painted 56 Ford Peacock blue. Later painted Cadillac Chestnut Brown frame with bronze tank and side panels. I bought it new and have it the garage still, with the brown and bronze paint from high school on it.

Definitely had to be my best buddy who got a new yellow 70 1/2 Z28 R/S for early graduation present. To this day that is my favorite model of Camero by far, 10 times cooler than any 67-69 could ever be.

My car was only OK cool in 1968. I had a '57 BelAire sedan with 283 PG trans. Now my buddy had what I thought was the coolest car in school. A '55 210 sedan with a 413 Mopar police interceptor and a torqueflite tranny. It was scarey fast, and painted rootbeer brown metallic, with Cragar mags. We all envied him!
