Here's my 62 comet. We managed to gut the front suspension and were getting ready to hack off the inner fenders. We are going to tube the front as much as possible and make front a full steel flip [IMG]

7. Can't get enough of these cars, I had pages out of mags taped to my bedroom walls when I was a kid of straight axle drag cars, knew I wanted one someday. I posted pics on pg 61 of this thread of my Henry J not long after I got it, here's some updated pics, progress goes in spurts as I usually have at least 2 other projects on the go at any given time. I hope to get it out for some shakedown passes by July.

Update on my '63 Catalina Gasser. Cut the firewall center out, moved it back, and filled it in. Built a steering column support for the original column. Rear wheels tubbed and the frame rails narrowed and all in. Using a 400 block I mocked up the motor and built the front motor mounts. Still waiting for the '60 389/406 short block to get assembled. Should not be long now.

Close up of the AllPontiac front motor plate but I cut it apart and sculpted it to only mount around the cover bolts. Moon front cover and the Hilborn mech. FI pump I'll be using in a faux setting. Too risky running the pump as a fuel pump so I'm going to use it to run the regulator bypass fuel back thru the Hilborn pump so it looks like it is in the sytsem and supplying the fuel to the motor.

I've also added another song I rewrote to the Top Gun song.

Just click on the video link and sing along with the new lyrics.

Top Gun<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Revin' on the two step
Listen to that engine roar
Finger on the trans-brake
Beggin' you to let 'er go
Now you're in the turbo zone

Right into the turbo zone

Comin' off the transbrake
Feeling all that torque explode
Your Front end jumpin' off the track
And pullin' hard against the road

Now you're in the turbo zone
It'll take you
Right into the turbo zone

You'll never know what she will do unless you push her to the red line on the boost
You never know what she can do Until you twist her up as far as she will go

I can hear her singing
It's right where she wants to be
The higher on the boost
The better the ET will be

Now you're in the turbo zone
Gunna take you
Right into the turbo zone

Now you're in the turbo zone

Right into the turbo zone

Now you're in the turbo zone
Gonna take you
Right into the turbo zone

Now you're in the turbo zone
Right into the turbo zone

Now you're in the turbo zone
Gonna take you

Right into the turbo zone
Right into the turbo zone

Right into the turbo zone

At one time (76-77) Wayne Moore had this car. He was racing it with us at Irwindale back then. Ran it at the Fox Hunt in 77 for sure, I have it in Dragscoop June 4th 77 edition. Same paint with Advance Trans lettered on the rear fenders and his name on the doors. Dave Kommel took the shot. HTH

13. I've been trying to piece together the history of the car since I got it, I received a couple photos of it racing in the 70s from another member, but have had no success finding info on Wayne Moore. Is he still around? still racing? It will have a 440 in it, I didn't know until I saw the old photo that it had been 440 powered before as well. Anything you got on the car and its previous owner would be much appreciated, thanks!

Shes got everything but a straight axel. Is a restored drag car from the mid sixties to early seventies. Will the tinted windows qualify her as a Gasser?

Here's the latest on mine. Got the rear springs fixed, took the radials off and got bias ply all the way around and getting more of the body work done. And door handles finally...

28. They look like just fabricated valve covers with a reflection of the header in them.

Yes, just fabricated valve covers. Didn't really want to lose the old Corvette valve covers I had, but roller rockers and stud girdles dictated taller covers.
