Fiat Toppy's are really cool, I had one.
This one would make a really cool old beater for the street. I'll bet no body would deney that!

    Fordman,
Ya gotta move the axle forward, that will set that bad-boy apart from anything out there!
I like the sounds of what your going to do...a twin-turbo set up will be WILD.

Know a guy with a '63 Acadian C/GS car sittin in his garage waitin for me to buy it. Used to have an injected 427, with a ford toploader 4 speed in it. The motor is gone, tranny may be too, but the injection is still there. Has an old econoline front axle, and a '57 olds rear with summers bros axles (offset to 1 side). Has a reall sweet retro-lookin ribbon paintjob. Used to run mid 10's. Maybe i should get a pic of it for u all.

AHotRod that's one of the reasons I was considering it. I've never seen a 66 Falcon built that way. Plus it will make lifting the front end on launches that much easier!! [IMG]

    Fordman,
You got it,...just add about 150 lbs, inside the trunk just above the rear bumber area, and smack the trottle !
Be sure and have the video camera mounted inside the car and pointing out the windshield...this will make a cool home video of your wheels up launch.

I don't know why I've stayed out of this post. About the rear weight. had a good buddy that was kicked out of the stock class into the gas class(where he didn't have aprayer)at the 64 winternational's for removing front weight and filling the wells behind the rear wheelwells with concrete that 57 chev carried the wheels on launch which made them take a second look at his car.

does anyone have a pictures of an altered wheelbase 63 tempest that ran in the mid sixties around southern california. A good friend took Mickey Thompson A/fx car and added a straight axle and moved the rear axle forward 17 inches Before they coined the phrase Funny Car. it was among the first. he flat towed it with Doyle Gammel's old 32 three window that he put a L-88 aluminum headed 427 in. he had one of the fastest tow cars ever( 124 and real low 11's.

then there is my project car, not tradional gasser stuff, but it

I've always wanted a 40-41 willy's but when they started building them in Glass I knew I had to go a different way (this IS NOT A GLASS VERSUS'S STEEL ISSUE! its just anyone can buy one now) So I took the willy's measurements and applyed them to a ford

AHotRod I'm going to have dual batteries in the trunk along with a fuel cell so I shouldn't need to add anymore weight. I want the in the car video shot and I'll need a friend to tape a launch or two from the outside!! [IMG]

48 HEMI That is a cool project!! I love the look of the 40-41 Willys too, but everbody is starting to build them.

I like my 66 Falcon because you don't see them everywhere. Even if it's not the best looking design.

  27. I couldn't resist posting this pic I recently found in my files.

This '48 Ford straight axled gasser pic was taken in 1982 at the Mid Century Merc run in Kenosha, Wi. I wish I had taken more and better pics. Oh well, I hope ya enjoy!
