    This is one I'm building. The cab is a Graham. The engine is a '55 235 with Edmunds 2X2 intake with 94s, Fenton exhaust, and T5 tranny.

    Next up is the chop and fixing the stance a little.

    Convince him to keep the six, sell the 460 and use that money to get you something...nice. ;)

    Yeah, that looks like a "by-pass" filtering system.
    Pulls oil off the crank and feeds it back in through the cam.
    It does filter all of the oil, it just takes longer.
    My ol' man had a '60 Apache 10 p/u when I was a kid.
    Had a 261 in it (big brother to your 235), that he got out of a bus.
    That had a "full-flow" oil filter on it (like modern engines have).
    As an alternative to dumping the can you have now, you can replumb your system to work like a full-flow.
    You just need to find the where the oil leaves the pump and use that as a feed to the filter, then plumb the line back in at the crank, after it comes out of the filter.
    This will give you a full-flow oil filtering system, with the added bonus of being able to mount the boss anywhere in the engine bay you deem fitting.
    Even with a by-pass system, though, its better than no oil filter at all (engine will last longer).
    I know you can get spin-on type oil filter "boses" that aren't built into the engine, too.
    The ol' man later did that with his VW Bug. Bent a piece of metal to mount the boss on and plumbed all the lines himself.
    Using the spin-on boss will help make filter changes a little less....messy. ;)

    Quick note to say thanks to all who posted pics of their new rides, since my last post here.
    Looks like we're getting some serious builders in here now (Mogara - I see 4.11's in your future ;) ).

I have a 1928 model a business coupe, will be running a 1965 pontiac power straight 230, will be put custom split headers,probably either offenhauser or custom built dual carb, would like to do more upgrades later one like cams and pistons, and port the heads. 3 in the tree right now but would like to put a 4 speed floor shift in it.
     
  7. Hi guys, I havn't been around much of late as I had a move out into the country and never had acsess to the net until a few months ago when wireless internet became avalable.
    I own a 1946 Vauxhall and have just fitted my new engine, it's a supercharged aussi holden 202 straight six, it runs on straight LPG Gas and was built by a mate of mine, it should make 320hp and will rev to 7000 RPM
    A couple of weeks ago we had a working bee at home with 10 guys from my Aussi hot rod forum ozrodders.com some driving for 6 hours to help install my new engine.

    It's not done yet..

    but it will have a Chevy 250 that will be labeled on the valve cover... "International Fireball 250" with a 700R!

    HEY my other car has a Big Block!

    I'm in the midst of building a 250 for my 56 chevy. +.060, lump ported head, delta cam, on propane with nitrous. Should run almost as fast as the baby-blown 355 I took out of it, and only cost twice as much......

    My .30 over 225 slant six is running on sweet lady propane. Erson cam, electronic ignition, 9.5:1 compression pushes my 4000 lb truck along pretty good.

    What's propane cost in WA? For a long time it was cheaper than gasoline here in Austin, but now it is $3.20 a gallon. Mileage is not great. Less BTU's for the lpg, but the higher octane made the head shaving possible.

    What kind of numbers are you expecting with the nitrous?

    Here is mine.

    All hopped up 261 out of a Canadian Pontiac with "high compression" head.
    Milled, decked, bored to .60, Bulldog cam, solid lifters, hand massaged chambers, stainless tube headers, Clifford intake, Fish racing carb and vintage Vanderbilt water injection.
    Output is in the neightbourhood of 200 horses.

    2 Motorbike (I think it was a BMW) gearbox covers butted together.

    I wanted something in a bomb shape with finns like the valve cover.
    Stumbeld over those on a parts market and my sick brain got the idea in a second.

    I think the engine was built by continental motors (F226) It was basically a lift truck motor, also used in checker cabs (very good engine).

    216 in my 47 chevy gettin a new motor built as we speak

    its a 47 235 high torque truck motor bored out to a 15 over 261
    54 crank and rods 228 gmc oil pump head has some work done to the chambers. thomas magnesium rockers mallory dual point all gonna be covered with a sharp side cover valve cover and intake

    Here is my 223 Ford in my '61 Fairlane. Clay Smith 265 cam, Clifford intake and headers, Holley 390, Mallory Rev-Pol, laquered cloth sparkplug wires, and a little porting job on the head. I had the valve cover and pushrod cover plated, but with nickel, not chrome.

    i have a 250 straight six w/ a turbo 350 auto tranny on my 51 ..not a hotrod...but yeah...
