    n.z.,
Nuthin' wrong with the stock motor.
Any of the late American sixes are very sweet little runners, especially in stock form.

    Your avatar - that's a '47?

Nice ride. Congrats on building such a nice rod.

    Hi Guys,

It's a 1970 292 from a Suburban, .040 over, 270 Wolverine cam, ported, polished, offy intake with 3 Holley-Webers, Langdon headers, Pertronics Distrib, Water heated intake.
The 1940 Chevy coupe has been thoroughly massaged; Bonneville chop (3.5" front and 4" rear, laid down rear window, angled b pillars) nosed, decked, frenched 39 tail LED T-lights, louvered hood, vintage air, T-5 OD, 3:55 Nova Posi rear, Zig's 2" dropped Mustang II front with 11" discs, Diamond back WWW radials, 205-60 15 fronts & 275-78 15 rears!

Gets 20MPG on highway at 1950 RPMS! Straight 2 1/2" exhaust system with chambered mufflers and 6" tips! Neighbors hate when I come home late!

  10. All of my OT vehicles have inline-sixs

the 1973 Land Cruiser has a newer (1977) 2F which is basically a copy of the GM 235/292. Not many of the GM parts bolt right over, but it is a really close copy. I have in the past tried to convert it to TBI using a Holley ProJection kit on top of an Offy 4bbl conversion intake. For a while it worked, but something went bad in the computer and I put the carb back on and have no thoughts of re attempting the TBI again. As for hot-rodding it.....It has a header, electronic ignition with an MSD 6A, and the mechanical fan replaced with an electric one. No real HP, but has a ton of torque on the bottom end.

The DD truck is a Cummins 6BT with some add-ons. Gets 20mpg+

Another OT vehicle with the OE inline-6

The 1940 Ford is getting an 8BA though.

so this is my 235 that is in my 54.
has been bored .60 over, head was milled .125, block was machined for full flow oil filter, howard rough idle cam,
fentons were jet hot coated (however if I were to do it again I would take the time to clean up the castings and chrome them...)
then the motor was painted HOK kandy gold and was pinstripped but unfortunately no one but me will ever know it is there...

offy 2pot with carter yf's all hooked up to a 58 biscayne 3 spd with a borg warner electric overdrive:D

and for the record nothing says whoop ass like chirping 2nd with a inline six and a 3 on the tree!

Use the 3rd gear synchros... let me start agin, shift into third before shifting into first and you won't grind, been doing that for ten years daily driver only vehicle, see you at the Jalopy Showdown.
