The ol before and after pics of my stovebolt.
I couldnt never come up with the money to buy me a triple carb setup.so I built my own.
But after doing it, I am glad I built it myself.

    any pics of the intake?

did you just take a stock intake and weld carb flanges on it or is like a tubing log set up?

Here is a pic, that you can see a little of it.
Its not pretty or fancy, like some could have done, but considering my lack of ability and Money, I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

I had some good help, from on here, and on CT, from a couple of guys, that gave me alot of tech advice, and talked me through it.

Its a stock intake, and has 2" tubes, and flanges I cut out of plate steel and then welded and brazed up.
Most of the parts, to do the intake, throttle linkage, and fuel block etc, just came from my junk pile.
It still needs some tweaking, here and there, but Its doing pretty good now.

The worst part was, after getting it running, it keep flooding the carbs.
Not all the time , but when I would take it for a test run, one of the carbs at least, would start to overflow with gas.
I would take them apart, and blow them out, and it would do ok, for a couple of more runs, then do it again.
I finally found the problem, by accident.
I was pulling the gas line off again, and when I did, I noticed the filter element, in the the New inline filter, that I had put on, had broke loose on the inside, letting junk get into my inlet needles. Putting another new filter on solved that problem.

Has a McGurk 5 carb intake on it now but just running 2 2bbls at the present. ...no the zoomie won't fit my truck, it last saw duty in a FED. I have some full length big tube headers and dual exh. heres a pic from when i got the motor...it has a WC T5 behind it.

    thanks for posting a pic
    thats a cool intake!

I had the same problem with gas over filling my carbs then I figured out that I am a dumb ass...

if you run a manual choke carb and you do not use your chokes, you still need to tie them off.

apparently something stupid about vacuum pulling the choke closed?

    oops!:D

all good now though! runs like a scalded dog!

Got a quick question, fooling around with a 216 Chevy engine thought one of you might know. Did a compression check today and all cylinders came up to 90 lbs. What should they have. Thought I'd ask here before going anywhere else.

Ok guys, here the deal. The cars original 194 gave up the ghost a few years ago. A friend had this 230 (not 235, my error) so we dropped it in the 194's place and kept riding.

Folks I have been following this thread for some time just waiting to become a member,

Just fired the engine last night and you could see the smile on my face from the next county.

It is a Chevy 250 with the head worked by Tom Lowe, mild cam, Offy intake, Tom Langdon cast headers, Holley 390 (Yea I know I just ain't skilled enough yet to do the multi carb set-up).

The truck is a '54 Chevy patina/rust beater I bought out of Oklahoma. Mustang II, 4-link, 700r and the interior is going to be done in original style.

I will post some pictures in a few days after I get it out of the garage. I still need to get the exhaust installed and the front end aligned among other things..................:D

I have a 1947 Chevy Sedan Delivery, building a 261 with 30 thou overbore, "848" 235 head w/hard seats. 264 Howards cam, Edelbrock dual intake w/strombergs, Clifford long tube header,Stock 3 speed trans, When I find one, I'll change the 411 rear differential to a 355 from an automatic 50-54 car. Should be a nice little driver.
The only thing I have found more expencive than building inline 6's is old Harley Davidsons
