  6. Thanks, going to build a whole new engine for it.

It looks great Jeff. I see no quality issues it just must have been a bad picture.

SEMI SWEET PICTURES Sept 27 2003 011.jpg View attachment 3137390 Here's my 54 GMC with a 320ci 302. Pretty serious motor, 10.5 Venolias(Arias), Delta 264s cam, 2.02/1.64 valves, Charlie Baker cast headers, and an Ellis 270 H head intake. This is the original "as built" picture of the engine. The carbs are a pair Chev 250 carbs. They are long gone now as they lack tuneability with this motor and engine developed asthma just about the time the cam started working. It now has a modified Howard with 3 Rochester Varijets in sync on it and all driveablity problems are gone. View attachment 3137390

Devin. There are a few who make them. Don Ferguson of Paramount Forge repos the Wayne's both the top and side. There others advertising in The 12 Port News from the Inliners International. I have the Skinner on my stock head and another one that goes with my Skinner 12 Port head and injectors. There is a cool 2 piece for the Horning/Fisher 12 port which also used on the Howard/Arias 12 port which I'm finishing up on for my roadster. McGurks are tough to come up with along with a Nicson.... Good Luck.

Thanks! I'd love to find a Mcgurk valve cover to match my intake.

So would I. In 40 yrs I've only seen 2 and they were not for sale. It would match my 3 carb 270 big port intake.

I have a 2 carb McGurk for small port GMC and a friend who has 3 McGurk valve covers he'll never use but likes to look at. He has a new 302 in a crate. Maybe he's not a friend.

GMC in my un-hamb friendly race car, but it is a hotrod! 2nd time I drove it it went 161 mph @ ElMirage last November. Built by Ed Farrell, I've tried to make it better. Hope to make Ed proud and go 200 at Bonneville this year!

That is cool. Got some pictures of the car so we'll know what to look for a Bonneville. It's funny when Bonneville is not HAMB friendly. I can't figure out the Amish time thing either.

Posted a thumbnail so it's easier to ignore! 1952 Jimmy going as fast as it can! Howard/Arias head from Ferguson, homemade tunnel ram, whole lotta compression, and a bunch of cam!

@jimmy six @Devin I might have a lead on a guy who I spoke to at LA Roadster Show in 2012, and he makes reproduction Inline hop up gear, including Nicson and McGurk stuff. I have his business card here, if you are interested

Ed Farrel and I were good friends. We shared a ton of information about GMC's. I'm glad to see his race car put to the use he wanted. Ed always thought out of the box.

I got to meet Ed at Bonneville in 2011, right after he qualified for the long course. Man was he excited! I think if he would have had all week they would have got into the Two Club! Long story short a friend was at the Pomona Swap Meet December 2012 and saw that the car was for sale. I was able to buy the car and all the stuff to go racing. After a couple years updating all the rule changes I finally got to run in November at Elmo. The car will always be the "Farrell/Anderson Special"! One of the coolest things I got was a record plaque from the Rosetta Timing Association right on the dash!

I have a 1930 Ford, that has a Chevy 292 Straight 6, with a pair of old 49-51 Ford 8BA carbs on it.
It's backed by a Saginaw 4 speed, and Ford 9" rear end..

I had originally planned on swapping it out for the run of the mill 350 SBC,
but have received more compliments on the straight 6, that and the fact that
it moves this light car around quite well, has made me decided to keep it for now.
