My experiences with my roadster go back to starting it's build in 1981.

It finally was road worthy in 1985, so next summer it'lL be having a "25th"
    of sorts.

25 Years ago is only 1984!
That said, boy, how time does fly when you're having a good time!

My friend Burl built the Track Car in 1969 and still has it.
My old roadster was built in 1969, but not by me, I got it in 1989.

I bought my car in 1949..It has been through MANY changes over the years including several bodies.
I don't have any pics before 1956 but here's one leaving for Bonneville in 56 and the current configuration.(On the trailer)

    VERY COOL!

    Very cool thread.
I've had my 26T since '67 and my '36 PU since '72. Not driven nearly as much as some of you guys though.

My dad has had his 52' Fleetline(now for sale) for 28 years, his 56 Nomad for 26 years. I have had my nonHAMB friendly 73 SS Nova for 27 years, my 69 Camaro RS/SS for 27 years and my 69 Firebird 400 Convertible for 26 years. Yes, that's right, I bought my first two cars when I was 10 and I still have them. :)

I've had mine since 83, didn't look like this till the early 90's though, it has 63,000 miles on it, and in some places it shows.

Does this count as a hot rod, I still have my FED that I ran in the '70s as A/ED in fact I just had it out sunday afternoon drove it to the end of the block and back, neighbors love it as much as I do.

  20. I could not afford a 32 roadster in 1968 so I bought an old Vette instead. I still have it after 41 years. I still cannot afford that 32.

Bought the remains of my 37 coupe in April 1978--had it drivable and basicly done in 1982.
    As-bought--as finished---and today.

  23. I know a member of your family that doesn't think that it is a problem to keep a car they really like for 25 years, or even 2 of them! :D

I have had my 39 Ford deluxe coupe for 43 years now, seems like it's a keeper.

  27. I have had a project now for about 8 years. Hopefully I will get my '53 chevy 5 window truck on the road before the 25 yrs are up.
