24 years on the Galaxie getting the SOHC engine.
A bit closer to a rod, then a stock T.

  3. I've had the old Chrysler in my avatar since february 1968! Dad bought it from the original owner when she turned in her license at age 86. I was with him when he picked it up and remember her asking him "Do you think $350 is too much?":D:eek::D

We have a fellow in our club locally that bought his 1932 3 window in 1953 and in the early days raced in on the East side on tracks from Toronto to Idianapolis and points in between. There have been about 14 different motor combos in it including a 392 and a 426 hemi, but when he brought it West when he retired he put it on a fresh frame and put in a stroked small block ford. He's in his late 70's now but still uses it as his summer driver.

Not really a hot rod, but I've had my '67 Camaro since 1967, and I've had my 79 Mustang 5.0 since 79 and my '33 Ford coupe since 89

I just realized I even have my wife's '79 Malibu sitting under a tree. Bought my '48 PU in '79, we've been in 22 western states & Canada sleeping in back some trips. Made NSRA for 25th in Louisville. 100,000 mi, 4 colors of primer, it's resting. bought '57 Nomad in 68, just a couple years out of high school. It's awaiting a much deserved redo. Drug a '32 sedan home in '71, every decade I manage to work on it a few months befor ebeing distracted. Just picked up a '32 3W, been sitting 14 years, about ready to run again.

  7. I just realized I have had this truck for 26 years I hope I live to finish it.

I am three years short of having my merc 25 years.

I just now realised that I have had my 32 coupe 9 years already and it seems like yesterday when I found it. I got it 2000.

Sorta... my Dad bought the 5 window in '64.

Here it is in '89 after 20 years in the barn.

He gave it to me in '97 if I promised to put it back on the road. Here it is at a PowerTour stop.

So that's 45 years total, but only 12 years for me.

We got my Chevelle out of a junkyard in '79. Here we are together.

He gave it to me in '87 if I promised to get it on the road. I was 16 and had to sell my '67 SS hardtop to do it. But it was worth it.

So that's 30 years total, but 22 years for me.

My dad bought the 36 in my avatar in '57 and he still owns it. I am now in charge of maintaining it and he is just about ready to sign over the title and give me the keys.

I've had my '40 tudor for 27 years now. And my '67 Chevelle for 26. Both are packed away for safekeeping while other things take up my time.

I built this one, my first Kustom, back in 1981. Still have it, though it needs a restoration!

I have had this since April 1975. 34 years this month. 200,000 + thousand fun miles. The Fall Foliage Run shot is from the late 1970's. Thomas used it in 2003 on his New Years card. The other pic is from last April.

  25. When I was visiting the NHRA museum a few years back, I took a picture of your 57 sitting out front (unless there's two really nice, black Ranchero's with old style 5 spokes running around out there). Always liked the 57 Ranchero and your's is a superb sample!

Sorry I don't have any pictures downloaded but my father drug his 1934 dodge coupe out of a river bed in 1960, I was born in 1961. By 1962 the dodge was running a 354 hemi and stick, channeled and fenderless. The car and dad joined the street rodding scene in the 70's and by 1979 the coupe had fenders,383/auto,air still channeled painted white.
Dad now 76 still has the coupe but only drives it a few times a year. A little tougher getting in and out. 49 years and counting.:)
