This is killing me just looking at some of these photos. I cant see how anybody can just send these cars to the scrap heap or just let them sit there and rot away. And not let anybody buy them and fix them up. I bet alot of the owners probably said they where going to fix them up one day or wanted a outrageous amount for them. All i have to say is what a waist.

It’s not mine yet. I am working on the owner. It is not easy to get to and he doesn’t want me to mess up his land.

Here's a couple of pictures I took today in my backyard, so I know they're still there. I'm sure I'll get to one or two eventually.....

These are about ten miles from me. The F-1 has a 57 t-bird engine.

Here's one posted courtesy of Frankie 47 on 8/20/09. Looks like it was taken from a train about late-'20s.

Jeff, I'm with YOU! I get maybe MORE fun out of seeing early tin in a "natural" state thna even going to a car show (though I like THAT, too!).
Here's one posted mid-year '09 by 8FlatLiner6, HAMB Newbie from Rhode Island (who'd think there could still be V.T. in thta area of the country???)

A GREAT example, from late '20s or early '30s, I ran onto on the 'net can be accessed in a second by following this link:

    http://www.historicaphotoarchive.com/caps4/00289.html

OR, you can search it on AOL or Google using the key words: EARL BROWNING HARNEY OREGON. It's in the Oregon State archives, as I understand. I'd try & post it here, but I think there's a copyright issue.

LOOK it UP. It is WORTH it!!!

    Ribbed-Roof: I think junkyard pull-out should count. YOU already did the WORK!!! I see a jail-bar & a (what) '53 Ford there?

  19. I wish! This is just stuff around town while I was out today. I'm sure there's lots more...but i don't really know anybody in this town.

Took these just about 2 weeks ago. Thats a 39 Dodge I think. Lots of late 60's Mopar stuff like Chargers, GTX, Roadrunner and such. Prices were in the stratosphere though which explains why so many good parts were still there on them. No part I asked about was less than $100! I just wonder when the last time the owner actually sold anything off of them?

390 Merc: I know what you mean. I recently treid for MONTHS to get a 4-V intake from a DeS Sportsman (pretty beat up, too!). And the owner was waiting for somebody to come along and restore the whole car. As much as I love cars and WANT to see ones with good petential RESTORED, I think people need to BE REALISTIC! Sometimes it's actually BETTER to sell it in PARTS so LOTS of peple can benefit (and make the owner money!) . . . RATHER than keep leaving cars out in the open 'til they have practically NO value to anyone!

Died, again in September of last year. I can't be the only junkyard lover out here, so I'd like to kick this thread in the butt one more time.

Any more out there? It's been 7 months. :D

    BTTT, again

Here is what the 5th Edsel down on the first page may have looked like in better days! [IMG]

  28. Those pics appear to be taken of US 431 near Boaz, Alabama.

Huge junkyard of early iron and all of it rotting to the ground.
The fellow who owns it is a strange bird and will not part with anything.

  29. If you are talking about Ingram,he will sell stuff, but he is so overpriced that no one can deal with him.
