who has the best body

You might want to look around a bit locally I run across guys selling projects from time to time that bought decent glass bodies and frame and then lost interest and sell it . it could save a bunch that way

 

I have seen Be-Bops and it is very nice, and a reasonable price, too.

Well, I happen to think that I am probably right up there with the best of them, not to mention, that at the age of 40, I can be licensed as an antique in the state of KS..........

 

Which is silly due to the fact that people have been building glass cars from the sixties if not earlier. My grandfather built a few. Steel is getting harder and harder to score. Glass is a good alternative. Just make sure you make good choices with a "traditional" build. There is no excuse for bad decisions! haha

I will keep everybody informed, I've made my decision on the body I'm buying hopefully it won't be too bad when I get it. I'm going to start collecting the part's now so the build will go smoothly

glass is for looking through.

 

The way I look at it, a Wescott will save you less than $2K over a Brookville. Any of the "best" in glass are going to be within about $4K. Assuming a proper, high quality traditional build, the result will be a glass car with the value being about 30% less than the steel car. My best advise would be to reconsider the glass body.

There are other glass bodies out there besides the multitude of Ford ones, funny nobody mentioned the T Bucket bodies available.
Chevrolets of various years and body styles
Plymouths of the 33-34 style
40-41 Willys Coupes
and maybe even more.

 

I have a Wescott '32 roadster and a Brookville '32 roadster pickup. I find the quality to be comparable, but the Wescott cost now approaches steel. A Brookville Model A would cost less but make sure it will fit you; even the stretched Model A can be a tight fit for a tall guy.

 

Believe it or not,I was talking to a friend of mine, Who own's my dad's real steel roadster .You can buy a brookville steel body car 32 roadster unassembled for half the cost, All you have to do is assemble it. If your good at welding I'd look into this.
