A better question may be: How many of us only have old cars to drive, with no "modern" car back-up?

It is easy to have a pre-70's daily driver if you also have a modern car as a back-up for cold mornings or bad-gas days. But it takes a dedicated soul to depend 100% on a classic car.:D

I drove my 27 roadster all year round (sun, rain, sleet and snow, with no roof, heater or wipers etc) for 6 years, I leave for work at 6 am and don't get back until 7 pm , its 20 miles each way for work.
It runs a flathead , which I have too say starts incredibly well, if it hadn't started before the first full turn of the motor then I knew something was wrong.
I stopped using it so much when I got my 51 F3 pick up on the road, that has/is now my dailly driver.
I don't own a modern car at the moment, don't want one either, they really don't do much for me tbh. The wife does have a small Suzuki 4x4 which she uses (it was a freebie so can't complain, and besides I don't have to drive it :) ).
We also have the 56 Chevy all road legal, but I don't want too use it through the winter as I have just spent ages getting the chassis/floors back to good and the salt that they chuck on our roads is a killer.

My daily driver is a 55' 210 Chevy and my backup is a 52' International Pickup. Been driving these for more years than I care to count. Maybe one day, I'll look into getting me one of those modern 56's or 57's Chevys. I hear they are fairly reliable.
