AHA !!! 36-3window has been found out. Look at his avatar. He is, in reality, Wonder Warthog. Beware. Listen for the rip-rip-rip as he changes. Cackle, cackle, cackle....

I was lucky to have wired some of Georges cars when i used to work at Dons Hot Rods.I believe it was 6 cars i wired.George bought a 1937 Woodie off of Don i believe in 1988.George is very down to earth and loves helping upcoming Rod Shops. The -Rodster is correct about what George does for a living.I remember when Don built a flamed 1940 Ford coupe small block 5 spd for George so he had something to drive to meetings in.He has done more for the sport than anyone i know.

  4. ...a few years back, there was an article on him in Hot rod magazine, but I can't remember the issue...George has cars built that almost everyone likes, great taste.

George is a great guy, as has been said many times already. I was refered to him through the grapevine with help on my roadster pick up and he definately went out of his way for me.

George is a great guy. Met him in columbus a couple of years ago, and he bought my dads 35 ford pheaton, paid for it and let my dad drive it a couple of more months till we delivered it to louisville, ky. While talking to him, i mentioned i was looking for a electroline taillight for my duece coupe, and he mentioned he had a couple and that they were hard to find. Well 3 days later, he sent me an almost new old stock one for free. Cant beat a guy like that.

I've known George before he even had a pot to pee in. He is one hell of a nice guy and I will give him a call so he can join in this thread and give you a little history about him and his passion for hot rodding.

  10. The story I was told is that George saw the RPU on a Posie tour after it was built and had to have it.

George has been a pal for years...in'93 he let Donna and I shack up at his ranch when American Rodder did a photo shoot at his place in Tennessee with my 3w(actually Tom Prufer's latest coupe). The man's got more $$$ than Doan's got pills...cool dude.

I hear his tears cure cancer. LOL! This thread is funny. I know George and the legends and myths about him are a hoot to read. I figure if he wants everyone to know all about him he will let everyone know. If you read the article in The Rodders Journal you can learn a lot about George and what he does. However George is not someone who goes around beating his chest about who he is and what he does. Pat Gahnal put it best in his article about the '32 Delivery in The Rodders Journal, (paraphrasing here) he is to hot rodding and its builders what the Medici were to renaissance artist.

I was on the first Rod and Custom magazine Ego-Rama with George (who happened to win that by the way in his '32 roadster). We travelled together for about a week, he's a great guy, geneous and a real true car guy and can make anyone smile. One of the few car guys I've met with real money who hasn't let it go to his head. He's also given a lot of builders a chance to make a name for themselves (Dave Lane for example, who does incredible work). I wish George continued success in business and in the car world. As I understand it, George made his fortune by holding a sign reading "homeless, please help". Usta stand at an Interstate exit ramp. I might be wrong, though.

  22. Great guy! Unassuming, unpretentious, generous and would help anybody. Even me.

Hauled an engine from Phoenix to Memphis for me, just because he was "in the neighborhood" picking up a trailer.

    Thanks, Mr. George.

They would be correct. He has done well for himself and he is a VERY kind and generous man. He is as down to earth as they come. If you met him on the street you would never have any idea what all he has hidden in his garage and he would be more than happy to show you anytime! :)

I've never met him, but I used to see him w/ his buddies at Shades of the Past a lot. I've been flipping through some 20 year old issues of American Rodder while in the "library" over the last couple of months, and I've seen some of his cars featured back then.

Does anybody have any pictures they can post of his RPU from around '91-'92? It was black w/ a red painted Chevy 250" inline; not the one in post #15. I saw it for sale back around '98 or so, but not since.

    Later, Kinky6

Not vitamins! Whole food nutritional suppliments! My wife's a distributor. Good stuff.
The guy worked hard, made money, worked smarter, made more money. learned the value of good investment, and every one of us could do the same thing if our priorities were in order.

I met George in 1996, when he came to Lincoln Ne. for Americruise. His car was in a magazine photo shoot near my house, I stopped and talked to him and his friends for an hour or so, he ended up inviting me and my family to his place. I didn't end up taking him up on his offer, and have been kicking my self ever since.
