My youngest girl has been talking about going to Des Moines for months now and is really excited about going. Yesterday she really wanted to help get the car ready so I asked if she wanted to paint the inside of the trunk. She was so excited and was able to get in where I can't reach. It wasn't anything pressing to get done but I'm glad she wanted to. She stayed relatively clean too!

Headed out in the morning. The model A is packed full and over flowing. Not exactly a car for a family of 4. See you there.

Tomorrow I'm going to go over the 32 3 window, do a few things to make it a little more roadworthy and do a gut check to see if it ready for a few hundred miles drive. It's still really fresh, but so simple what could possibly go wrong!

We'll leave Friday morning for the 300 mile drive. Park in the Deuce Doins area.

Perfect weather and two great days at the show, I wont be going Sunday for the newer stuff. Well over 4000 cars packed into every available space, and all spectator parking lots full Saturday.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

This car was there. I think it is famous? May have inspired a guy or two.

****! The McMullen roadster was in the Me*** trailer? I never even looked in there! Definitely kicking myself right now for missing that!

My little bro bought a grungy old '32 there at the Deuce Doin's. He's got big plans for it. Talking new paint and upholstery after the Kugel ch***is is ordered. I think he ordered some big Billet Specialties wheels at the show too.

I'm kicking myself for not buying that 32 faster. I was on my way back to say I'll take it right as your brother was making the deal.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg This show was amazing. My car had only 100 test miles on it before I made my first ever, long distance, road trip. I racked up over 500 trouble free miles! You couldn't have any better weather than what we had. I got to chat with Corncobcoupe, Steve, Verno, and a bunch of others. Oh, I almost forgot......the ****** Mary I had Saturday morning was superb. You can't get one of those at Back to the 50's!:p

I had a good trip. The ol' model A ran fine. Put about 500 miles on it. Ended up breaking a rear shock mount on the way home. Being loaded with 4 people, luggage, and supplies we bottomed out quite a bit on the rough interstate. I didn't take very many pics but had a good time with friends and family. The 1st one is my A. It was packed full and made good use of the running board luggage rack. And yes, there is a car seat in the back for my 2yr old.

T & A, thanks for the photos. I love the little black T modified near the bottom. It would have been worth my trip to get a close up look at that. Sam

That T was super nice! Hand tooled louvers on the aluminum hood, even an air duct for the driver left of the windshield. I wish I had taken a picture of the steering box and pedal ***embly, somewhat like a Schroeder but with integral pedals, very cool.
    Some more show pics...
