It is that time of year again. Fall Jefferson and Ken's big bars. Who is going? I am going on Friday and Saturday this time. it sounds like it is going to be a warm one, almost 90 on Friday.
Need to add to your title posting...Not everyone knows anything about this that does not live nearby.. I live in Jefferson,However its in Texas....
I'll be there for Thursday morning if my flight to Chicago is on time, hope to do the whole show through to Sunday if any of the vendors are still there by then. If you bump into this bloke at the show who has a strange accent, please say hi. You can tell from this photo that I've been taking the advice written on the side of that truck
Hey Chris, I'm thinking I might attend. Probably on the day you think isn't worth going though. I have a gig on Saturday afternoon, so getting paid to drink beer trumps spending money for parts I don't need.
I always went on Sunday when the they had car show on Sunday only. but since they have the show cars on both Saturday and Sunday I started going on Friday and Saturday. It seems like most of the vendors are gone after Saturday
Don't think there is much going on Thursday morning.....might be later in the afternoon or evening though.
Me and Verno30 are vending side by side. Watch out for that! Come by and say hi ......Row WH140ish .We have a lot of crap we don't want and would like to get tons of cash for it. Check out the weather.... upper 80's low 90's forecast. I actually will leave the coveralls at home, but NEVER the rain gear.
of course I will be there. Haunting the shelter in the Car Corral where I will have four cars for sale. The only HAMB friendly one is a cool 48 Ford coupe on an 82 Olds Toronado chassis. I am looking forward to meeting Stueeee. We have been in communication and I have a few things of his already at the shop. I can speak Australian, but can I speak the Queen's English? funny, no bitching about how the weather is ALWAYS horrible during Jefferson Swap Meet! Actually, these 90 degree temps are pretty horrible for this pasty white boy.
Had a great time selling next to ahshoe. Met a few Hambers. Spent some time on Friday with bobwop and stueeee. Great weekend. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I arrived about 9:30 Sunday. By 11, I was passing more empty swap spaces, than ones that had something for sale. What was for sale? Plastic headlights, plastic taillights, & plastic grilles. I did score the sunvisors for my '63 wagon & some POR15. Could have got them on eBay, & wouldn't have had to walk & sweat.
it helps if you get up a little earlier and get there Dave. I was there at 10:20 on Friday (opens at 10am) and I was surprised I didn't have to wait in traffic. Got there at 6:45 on Saturday drove right in with the coupe. Only found a few treasures on Friday and nothing on Saturday. Bought some new stuff and some supplies. It was a rough couple of days with the sun and 90 degree temps.
Sorry I didn't even think to take my camera(and I didn't want to carry it) and my phone sucks for pics. maybe some one else took some.
I knew you'd give me a hard time for that! Didn't really decide to go until the last minute. I was working my Joe job on Friday & Singing on Saturday. Wasn't really looking for much anyway. Thought I might snake a few good buys on Sunday when everyone wanted to pack up & sell cheap, but they apparently packed up Saturday night & Sunday before 10am.
There was guys packing up on Saturday afternoon. I heard a lot of complaining about not selling anything. I didn't see a lot of parts being carried away either.
