Hot Rods Who is Joseph Weidenhoff?

Picked this up at a yard sale. Looked pretty old. Who is Joseph Weidenhoff? Looks like he made other engine analysis gauges.Anybody use one of these before?

They made tune up and test equipment and reportedly sold out to SnapOn in the 50's. That unit in the autoweek link would be a show piece in some rodder's home garage.

I had a Joseph Weidenhoff tach that I rebuilt and sold that worked clockwise and counter clockwise. It was a big 5" unit. I wish I had it back.

 

Oh man, that tach is a thing of beauty!

 

I had the same tach. It was beautiful. Not sure what happened to it. Always wondered about the origin.
