I have a set of Thomas rockers that are marked "Thomas" and on the other side O8 implying Olds hi lift 1.8 ratio. Then I have these that are very similar without any markings but with bushings. I have looked up pics of Gotha (no match), have some McGurks which are different. These are magnesium like the Thomas pieces. Any of you veteran Hambr's have a clue who may have made these?
And this is the shaft that the rockers were on along with early 1.5 stands yet the rockers measure out at 1.8 ratio. This does not look like the rocker shafts that I usually find in early Olds engines. This is beginning to be a mystery! There is only one long oil slot with one hole. Maybe they are very early 303 Olds items??
Talking with Frank (F&J) he said that Olds made many changes to their rocker shafts over the years so there is a good possibility that these shafts are an earlier version (49-51) of the shafts used then. That would seem to be the case since these have the early rocker stands as well. Jimmy, my other Thomas pieces do not have sleeves either. As to the FE rockers I have no idea. I talked to Gary yesterday at Rockers Unlimited out in Redding. He is sourcing all new adj screws for me so I will speak to him regarding these. He might shed some light on this subject.
