My 55 Sunliner is set up for a C-4 and I think someone makes a adapter to put one behind a Y block but all I have found are ones for. AOD or GM.

I believe there are 2 styles. If the C4 you have has a removable bell there is one that replaces it and directly bolts to the Y. If it doesn’t there’s a different one.

Flat O products. Talk to Gene.
Mummert also sells the Flat O products kit but why order from him when you can go to the source.

I was going to use a 62 COM with a 67 MX? valve body but why add all that weight and then have to get another driveshaft.

Don’t know what differential gear you have but my OT Ford with a AOD runs down the interstate at 2200 rpm and 65mph with 3.89 differential. If you already have C-4 never mind.

If your rear end is stock it will have a 3.31 if it was a Ford-O. Since the C4 starts out in low you can comfortably go to a higher ratio without any worries and have a lower rpm on highways and interstates. I went with a Ford 8.8 with 2.74’s and for me it’s great. Almost all of them have discs and many a posi. The rear end shop that built mine had a complete drum brake set up from a mid 80’s F150 which are the same 11” with a wider shoe. The stock E brake worked perfect with only enlarging the cable hole a few thousandths from metric to inch size.
