where can i get some true chrome reverse wheels? not smoothies,,,,,,not multi lug rims, but TRUE old style chrome reverse wheels....
try Wheel Smith out, if im correct he is a HAMBer also. im looking at an add in the Rod and Custom right now and his link is thewheelsmith.net and his phone number is 800-854-8937 the add shows a wheel like the one you are inquiring about.
Yeah- the wheel vintiques series 64 comes with the factory center, and they will custom offset/ reverse the rim for a little extra.
An alliance vendor, http://www.rallyamerica.com/old_school/index.html Yes, old style wheels, "tapered" rim shape before they became stepped for the invention of disk brakes.
ill definitely have to check with wheelkid,,, im bringing a beat up saturn,,hahaha,,,, the shoebox isnt far enough along to bring yet,,,, ill almost feel guilty to be eating and hanging out instead of working on the car,,
What's an honest opinion here-- about the O.E. style chrome wheels from the smaller guys. Are they better quality than W.V.'s?? I don't think I've ever seen a set as nice as Pitts64- and I doubt that the WV's is that detailed- but costs alot less for a set. Who's is better?
Ive seen them on Hot rod hanks website. They are around 100 each. there have been questions about them on here but no respences
Wheels of steel is out of business... He has closed up the shop. He called me about buying his inventory 2 months ago.. He is focusing on his chrome shop now.. Jason.
I got mine from summit. So far I've just rolled the car in and out of the garage, but so far so good. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+115+306614&D=306614
I run a full time hot rod shop and the wheel company.. I kind of stick to the bread and ****er wheels.. I get one call for single bolt pattern vented wheels for every 100 for smoothies or rally wheels.. Just can't justify bringing in a bunch more stuff... Jason.
I think a LOT of those Smoothie customers would buy OEM style 5 hole if they were reasonably close to the same price range. On that "safety bead" thing with tubeless tires; I cramped a tubeless tire on '55 Olds wheels against a curb just a ittle bit parallel parking once and the tire bead dismounted and the rim ate gutter instantaneously. Yea I had a spare, thank goodness.
