Looking for recessed firewall for my 30 Tudor along with a floor kit. Installing a small block ford figure I need a 3-4" recess. Any thoughts or ideas. I am not a metal worker and would rather buy some tin that is new and ready to go. Thank you
My experience with re-popped tin, especially modified stuff is you need to be a metal worker to get it to fit properly anyways. In other words, time to learn a new skill!
Have you already reversed the stock firewall? That alone should provide ~3". If using an A frame, there's this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIwv6z1ZymkAMVmSfUAR0VFRzxEAQYASABEgJUT_D_BwE If you're mounting your body on a deuce frame, you'll gain another 3" in the engine compartment, due to the longer wheelbase. Also, @Steadfast mfg makes a great subrail kit: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...hassis-sub-rail-kit-by-steadfast-mfg.1119479/ Hope this helps.
Johnny beat me to it! I remember the first time I saw this done, I said BS...........NOT. I would highly recommend spending some time with a tape measure on the car and at Home Depot, also, don't expect it to work perfectly without some cutting.
Like already mention previously above Reverse a stock , Wheel Barrel Or Fiber Glass , Or Straight & add beads ext.
I don't have any photos but my buddy had a wheel barrow for the recessed firewall in his 29 and his wife had the frame with a couple of pieces of plywood as her garden wheelbarrow. I think his dad did the plywood part of it as that wheel barrow with the plywood looked like it was designed that way. He used a pretty shallow wheel barrow and that is about all I know about it. Ace hardware might be your best bet or a garden store with an end of season sale for the one you need.
