I need to replace the rockers in my 50 Chevy, and see a few different companies offering them. Who has good experience with what brands?
I've used EMS for rockers and floor pans. They have nice stuff. I think maybe the best? The guys who installed them were happy with the fit.
one thing I always say to people looking for replacement sheetmetal is if you are not doing the work talk to the guy who is before buying something. I did the bottom of the tailpan (below the trunk) in a 52 chevy vert. dude bought an NOS tailpan for a fleetline on ebay for big bucks. well for starters fleetlines are different so I couldn't use the whole thing. all I needed to patch was a piece on each side about 3" tall and 20 " wide. he insisted I cut up this pan to do the fix and would not listen when I told him to take it and sell it on ebay and I'd make my own patch. so I patched it up the way I wanted and sold his pan for $150.00 another guy spent $75.00 for a lower front fender patch for his F-100. all he needed was a patch about 6x6 with a little body line in it. he tossed 75 bucks in the shitter. don't know if this is your situation.. but there is my 2cents. don't know who makes the best ones as i've never had to buy rockers.
Here's EMS Automotive Products web site - www.emsautomotive.com and their phone # is 216-541-4585 I just made my own rockers on my ride, hope this helps. CRUISER
I bought rocker for my Pontiac from Rocker King out of Wisconsin. His prices are fair and quality is very good. Also was shipped quickly at a fair price and well packed. He advertises in Hemmings and is also on ebay.
We're doin a 52 right now and bought EMS stuff as far as lower front quarter sections, and body mounts and they fit well. I'd use them again. I agree with 49ratfink, rockers for those cars are so easy. save some cash, buy some sheetmetal and it yourself.
fink, you are one lucky dude! Godamm...EVERYTHING I touch needs rockers! Here, in NJ, you're lucky if the whole lower 6-9 in. of the car is intact!
