No reason the "average" engine build can't use off the shelf springs packaged for application. One or two clicks each to Jegs and Summit will bring up all you (may) need.
^^^^^^^^ Absolutely….their catalog is almost a bible on springs. 5-6 pages of heights and pressures. Retainers (7*-10*), keepers (at 3 different heights), bases for aluminum heads, and even lash caps. Seals too for your valve guides and the tool to cut them…..
Comp cams catalog should have what you need. I picked up the one on the right as a souvenir, it’s a Comp Cams spring from Greg Andersons Pro stock Camaro.
