You took the words right out my mouth when It first drove up to my shop to be reworked. That merc should have been parted out. Now I have to try to fix this thing for the poor guy who got screwed on a gaybay deal from a wheeler dealer from texas.

Ian I am farily sure this green merc was built in the vagas area about 8 years ago from a lincoln. It was alot ruffer back then but has the same chop pofile. It looks to me it is cut about 5.5" to 6" in the front and 7" to 8" in the rear. Sedans are harder to cut so I hope you are charging more to do it.

I agree, I believe the car was chopped by Reb out in Jamul, CA. Same guy that chopped my 51 and the Russ Conway shoebox. Stobbe can probably confirm or deny. I remember when Mike sold it, I was REALLY close to buying it. Here's a couple pics from when Mike owned it from a git together we had in La Mesa back in 04. Check out FONZI's chebby behind it....

Heres another gay bay bought chopped 4dr I got the pleasure of rechoping for the new owner but only after I finish repairing all the screwed up air suspension it came with. I have alread started to install a clip with a new bag setup. The chop on this one is not that bad but it has that ugly reverse curve on the sail pannel sides you see on way to many chops. I plan to cut the front about 1/2" lower and the rear 1 1/2" lower and reset the back window.

As for the green 4dr merc I could be wrong about it but I still think it is the one that was orginally built about 8 years ago by a guy named Jhonney ? and I belive he belonged to the car club Deacons. He sold the car to a guy who had it for sale a few years back out in Vegas.

 

Did this one a few years ago. Probably 3 1/2 all the way around.

Pretty good , but i still think the green Mercury has THE BEST profile, i ve seen!!! Thats the reason im trying to get the specs on the chop!!! I really wanna get the same profile!!

i guess i'm not the only weirdo who digs the 4 door merc. prolly the only 4dr whose roof line works no matter what. most likely due to short, suicide rear doors. chopped, carson topped 4dr merc.... yes.
