who rebuilds starters in the detroit area

looking for a good rebuilder for generator and starters in the detroit area any help would be great .

 

There's a shop on Grand River between Telegraph Road and Beech Daly called Robert Walters Automotive (313-531-3336) right next door to Detroit II Used Car Center on the north side of the street (across from the ACO Hardware).

He supplied us with rebuilt starters and alternators at fair prices when I worked in the service department at Detroit II last year. He will also rebuild oddball starters and alternators if you bring him one you need done.

Aside from him, there's Fort Auto Electric (if they're still around) on Fort Street (313-841-6350) and High Quality Starters & Alternators on Plymouth Road (313-846-8469).

Royal Remanufacturing went under...they were hands down the BEST, but Robert Walters is damn good too.

 

There's a little shop on Fort St. in Riverview that has did the starter for my Flathead and changed my generator over to 12 volts. It's a couple of block north of Sibley Rd. on the east side of Fort St. Sorry I can't remember the name. John
