Saw it on a "list" down in Tehachapi... for sale... again... cheap... Will it run again? Why don't one of you a-holes get up off your ass... buy it... build it... and race it?
I was there, it was wonderful. Staging lanes are open.....anybody who wants to make a pass..........lanes are open....anybody?? -Abone.
Those guys worked so hard trying to make that car work. They looked good in their white coveralls on race day. These shots from MOKAN must have been from the Friday night test and tune. If I had the time, the money, ......, I would go for it. It never got the pass it deserved. John
It was too bad that it never made a good solid pass. The competition and BS'ing between Gordini's crew and the BFD crew was a lot of fun.
And, why don't you do what you want someone else to do? Get up off your ass... buy it... build it... and race it
You may not know, but Sam built the car that was to match race this car. His car made passes at the first HAMB Drags and had a colorful history after that. I believe it recently came out of retirement for a few passes. John
Yeah, Sam! Buy that poor decrepid old coupe and make something of it. After spanking him at the drags, it would be the ultimate smack down. Lessee if this photo will come out of you working on the BFD next to my pits.
...not to mention building the HAMB-conic "Roach Rod" from a similar but much worse shape body/pile of loose and totally roached panels!
I had a nice candy blue '26 T Tudor that had my 304" flathead in it. Great holeshotter stoplight to stoplight. Any farther and it was a 'handicap race', with a windshield governor. But I could wear my top hat in it...
Distance & $, otherwise I take up that throw down A-ho' whammy-jammy style. and put a Nailhead in it. Shiny black a splash of CHROME to break up the boredom. On the back deck lid (no cheese grater louvers_) would be some not so PC, hand painted lettering (thats is hand/brush/One Shot style, Lyle) w/permission granted 'Every Loser Needs a Fucking Hero' w/License PLATE ~'5150'~ 'casue its highway/freeway where it all began. And this is done on a mad thrash, blessing of Bob Thrash at DETO'S Retreat.
Fuck... that's too close to home. I need that like I need another... well, you know how it goes... It would look good being towed to the track behind my chevy station wagon though...
