Show of hands, who reports SPAM around here? I know it's an O/T subject and post posts get locked by the Mods, but how many of you repot spam? I'm sure it's the first thing @Ryan does when he gets to the office in the morning is delete all the spam posts and banes the accounts.
I've reported 5 or 6 just this morning already! I rarely report them twice because i like giving other members a chance to "run them off" as well. I did a search and there is now SIX PAGES on the subject.
I report spam! So don't try it. I don't report off topic posts, but try to coach the poster to be careful.
The ones I like reporting the most are the ones that say "A moment ago" next to them. because then it's been posted less then a minute ago.
When I log on in the morning I usually see 1-2 spam posts and report them . BS that we simply need to keep the spammers out , hopefully they find this site a pain and leave . I do it with telemarketers that call me , I tell them I’m going to ********** violently and loudly while they speak to me , if they are ok with this they can continue talking I’m usually off there call list for a few months when I do this !
When you fellas report spam - it triggers the report tab which Moderators click on and Mods just ban the name of the poster. It's a daily ritual that can happen 24/7 Typically over night up to 15 spam reports hit and we zap them. Those are the ones that get through - Usually there are 100's if not 1000's that Ryan's Spam filter blocks. We just zap - ban the ones that get through. Thanks for reporting them.
I like it fried, usually with a couple of eggs. But all seriousness aside, I sometimes do report it. And because I know that it will be purged soon, sometimes I let the next guy put in the poison pill.
I do as well. But, what amazes me, is sometimes there have been lots of views and no one has bothered to report. I don't believe I have ever had to wait 2 minutes between reports. I'll check next time I report one.
