Ha! Man that is sad, and he’s “managing” the place.
I was trying to buy a part at O’Reillys. The guy asks what car, I say “65 Galaxie 500”. A solid two minutes of typing and he informs me that make of vehicle does not exist.... Really? Well that’s a bummer - I wonder how I’m going to get home?? Finally clicked that he needed to know it was a Ford.

It's best to find Walmart tires on line and have them shipped to your store. Way better prices on line, besides the stores have a limited inventory.

As stated earlier, Diamond Back cleans off the outer side wall, and offers a "black wall smoothie" option with 3 finish choices, on most of their catalog sizes.

  6. The diamond back option is nice.
It will be over the 600 budget on the tires alone. Plus shipping plus mount and balance.

If I were you I'd practice smoothing up a side wall on a junk tire to see how it goes.
It's messy and labor but not to hard if you have a good DA, a compressor that keeps up and know how to run the sander.

How does one save money by buying tires online, shipping eats up any possible savings.

Oh and your own tire machines helps a bunch

There's 2 ways online tires works-
you get the thing you want that nobody else has. Like Coker or diamond back.
You can use the the thing On give away discount, like Amazon or specials.
The little kicker with Amazon is you can get a gift card and get fuel perks if you play that game. Some times it's double fuel perks :)

I ran 225/70r15 tires on 7" wide wheels on my '62 Galaxie. The tire and wheel sizes worked together great and they lasted for many many miles.

At Walmart, they offer free pick up at your store for online orders. Most times the price the tire desk has in there computer is higher than the prices available online! Don't know why, but good to know.

Thanks a *****, not singling you out, just can't wrap my head around buying tires online.
I kind of get it if there is no shipping fee but if Walmart does with tires like a large percentage of their merchandise by making agreements with vendors only if they work with them on price, you know the tire mfg's aren't going to discount their number one grade of tires.
When it comes to tires; I personally won't base my choice of tires strictly by price.
I will admit to getting some high end Yokohama tires for my OT Nova at Costco but they were special ordered from their L.A. warehouse.
I do know there has been a lot of discussion that not all of their in-stock tires are number one grade.

Actually I'm thinking they stock low priced tires for their average customer, but you can find better tires online. In other words, they stock mostly inexpensive tires as that's what they sell in volume.

Probably better to get some online tires that are drop shipped from a factory warehouse, than getting some tires that have been sitting on a back shelf for a year or more at a low volume dealer.
