I'm in....that's my 36 pickup. Never mind the rear wheels...I realise that they're way silly looking...we're switching out the rear end next week.
    Cheers

  3. Adam...more details please. I almost drove to Lakeport a time or two to check out that car, but I kept getting sidetracked by other projects.

The body looks nice...front gill looks real good, etc. even has the bumper guards still in place.

The rear fenders look like 36 YM to my eye ?

I will have more details on Tuesday when I go pick it up. I know it is super clean and even still has the radiator and exhaust in it from the previous motor...and an Olds rearend. Can someone tell me the difference between the '36 and '35 fenders. Is it taillight placement or...??? I am new to these years cars. Very excited...

Your taillights look like 38 ford style... 35/36 while not exactly the same had a long neck that stuck out from the fender.

Your rear fenders looked like they might be 36 ? more convex on the back side, where a 35's had a concave swoop to them.
You need a good profile shot to see it well, but it's apparent in these pic's. And likewise for the front fenders.

That black, hoodless '35 with the black wheels is pretty awesome. And I do, indeed, have '36 fenders on my '35...whatta ya know!

If they are 36 fenders I wouldn't think they would match up so well ? But they look fine.

Hey, if your making a tail dragger ? you want 36 fenders :D

Maybe now is a good time to ask...what is the best resource for parts for these cars? All the sheet metal is good...except for the firewall, that has been pretty butchered. I need a rear bumper and brackets, original-style taillight brackets, dropped axle, and would like a new dash and steering wheel. Santa? Are you getting this?

As for the style...I think taildragger is out. Probably something a little lower, smoother, and meaner than stock...or a 60's style straight-axle with rootbeer paint and a heavy flake, and some gold leafing. Hmmm...

Steve...you have a nice rearend! I am guessing that picture was taken BEFORE the new driveway! Thanks for the picture, the 35 fenders look nice with that subtle swoop to them...

    Love the dually!

That black '35 is Weemark's right? That's a good shot to see the difference on the '35 fenders. Better than the one I sent you. I replied to your pm.

Yep, I hope he doesn't mind...I got it off his web site.
Like you said it does show the difference pretty well.

The fender skirts behind the wheels (front and rear) is another place that you can see the difference...with the 36 skirts being wider. The 35's fenders are more like the previous years 34, etc, Where the 36 fender look more like the later years, 37 through early 40's.

I'm not sure when they lost the center crease in the fenders...37 had it, i'm not sure about 38 ? and i think it was gone by 39.

There is alot of very Cool body work in these Fords, and most cars of that period.
The lines really take on a form of art, the likes of which we'll never see again in production cars.

    Here is my '36 roadster.

It has been bobbed in the rear to look more like a '34. It was done by someone at Barris in the '50s when it was a coupe. At least that is the rumor.

searcher nope i dont mind you taking pics from the web site...its cool.

its amazing how many people dont really see the difference between the years until you actually look at the lines of the fenders. i think the only thing the same between years is the mounting points

i think 35/36s have some of the coolest lines of all the early fords, i dont think i would give mine up for any other year of early ford.

    Words to LIVE by.

Uh, I mean, they are nowhere near as cool as 28-34 Fords, and if you want a 35/36 don't bother, nobody wants REALLY wants them... :D

Might as well throw my name in too. Got a 36 roadster in progress, but then I picked up a 32 and now the 36 is patiently waiting to get done.

Nice 3 window Myke, I think it looks great chopped. I did my 5 window recently but leaned the windshield back instead of stretching the top (which we would have done if I was lucky enough to have a 3 window).

Here's a new picture. Going with Washington Blue this time. Still got a ways to go with it.

    Thanks for the comments!

I would like to see a profile of your 5 window. It looks like you were able to avoid the flat part over the door by leaning the posts.

Here's a side shot. I got the windshield to fit well (still cranks open), I'm still working out the details on the doors so I can get glass done. I guess with the weather you are having up north you can pass the time with your project....I'm still driving mine from time to time even without the glass :D.....Once it gets cold here I can get serious about doing the bodywork.
