We were just talking about this recently, I lost the brakes on the restored 65 Chevy Saturday night after leaving a cruise-in. Going up hill this time, hit the brakes to make a right and nothing. What a feeling. I was going slow, down shifted and made the turn, and the driveway was just ahead. Emergency brake works good. Just a few minutes before I was cruising in town with a lot of traffic, glad it happened when it did.

No leaks so it looks like the single res master cylinder took a dump.

So far, every time I lost my brakes it was from a broken or weak line. It happened every time when I was either pulling into or out of the garage. Lucky,lucky...
Good reason to make sure you have an emergency brake or a heavy anchor.

  3. I lost the brakes on my 66 big block Caprice, while I was towing a car on the freeway in Calif. That thing doesn't stop good when everythings working. I e-braked it home. I changed the master cylinder. It's going to get a disk brake, dual master cylinder swap. Dean
