Just discovered groups here on the hamb., too cool. Can someone please post a close up detail shot of trunk lid seal on 55-56 car. Tore it off before repaint and did not look. Now I am on my second new seal. Need orientation and placement (how far in on the lid) thanks a bunch
It gets glued to the truck lid . Start at the bottom center and work around the truck lid . Use some tape to hold in place . It needs to line us so it sits down in the groove when the truck is closed . just measure and you are good to go . Not sure what else you need to know . Jim
That part is easy but there is a fine line between being in the right place and not. My first try was not. Just looking for what kind of gap from outer edge of trunk lid and the orientation of the gasket itself. What side gets glued and the (direction?) of the narrow versus wide part. I know what did not work and dennis carpenter, macs, tbird, concours noone has a picture and dimensions. Again, a pic if you please thanks ford guys
Basically the inside of the "U" faces the inside of the trunk lid all of the way around. Hopefully this makes sense.
