As far as Lokar and Painless Wiring go... you would probably do better buying them from a shop than directly from them at a discount... they should sell at retail and getting 10% off of retail would not touch the pricing that mailorder and the internet has *****d it down to...

That being said... I work at a performance warehouse that sells wholesale to automotive parts businesses. We stock 250 product lines... ftom Accel to World Products. Most of what we do falls in line with the Summit and Jegs type product line. We do keep Lokar, Painless, MSD, ******, Pertronix, Mallory, Edelbrock etc, which is stuff that crosses over to the HAMB market place.

So, what I can offer is that I will bend as deep as I can for extra discounts for Alliance members who order through these shops. Wholesale margins are very thin... sometimes there is only 5% markup to what I pay for a part to what mailorder sells it for. Really. Its that bad. But I will do what I can.

Here are the shops that I know of....

The Hot Rod Company, Madison, WI (Sidevalve)

Hot Rod Ch***is and Cycle in Addison, Illinois near Chicago (HotRodCh***is and Django)

Nightmare Racing Supply right by Detroit (Hot Rod To Hell)

If you need something, PM them or myself, and things will get done. I will check for Alliance membership since I sit at a computer all day and am obviously on here for hours a day. :)

I can dropship right out of my facility (NW Indiana) and ship UPS right to your door.

Its the best I can offer for years of enjoyment here!

I second the Astro Supreme dealer. Even if it's just a small amount or free bullet lugs with purchase or something like that. I'm wanting to buy two new sets and I'd love to get a deal on them.

Not all of these guys will "get it",some will see it as cutting into their bottom line or undercutting their dealers, so participation will probably vary by the size of the company and if they sell to the public.

For those of you looking at local parts places (O'Reilly's, Autozone, etc...) you might check with local store managers on what they have floating around in the computer. For years I got a HPAC discount (High Performance Auto Club - Mopars) here in KC at the local stores. It might be worth looking into just to see who's getting what and then kick in a little coin to a local club IN ADDITION to your Alliance membership. :) 5% isn't much, but when you get into buying brake items, gauges, etc... it can add up. I was just at a used car dealer last night who would let me get tires at his cost, just to help out.

    As an aside::
So far there's about 2% of the HAMB list or so that's joined up . . . even taking that number to 25% (lofty??), that would be about 4000 members. Small shops are gonna benefit the most from this I would say, especially those with a niche market. Those big guys (Speedway, etc...) are getting the shotgun affect from multiple magazines they advertise in without any discount that have people clamoring to order from them.
    :(

There are a few of us who are into Ford inline engines. Mike Winterboer's shop has been busy the last several years catering to that market. He's a terrific guy and his shop, Cl***ic Inline (used to be called Ford Six Performance Parts) has a lot of cool stuff. Can't speak for him, but I'm sure he'd be interested in joining the H.A.M.B Alliance.

Mr. Cyclone from Cyclone Racing Equipment is a HAMBer AND an Alliance Vendor and I'm sure he'd be happy to 'adjust' his pricing for a fellow HAMBer. And from what I've seend and heard, Cyclone QC units rule.

A lot of the guys mentioned will be added to the vendor roster next week actually...

A few of them have been contacted already and either didn't respond or were not interested for varying reasons... Many of these guys don't have a handle on the dynamics quite yet and are afraid to undercut their dealers.

Finally, a few of these guys are people I haven't thought of and will be trying to contact...

MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you know some of these folks and would like to see them in the Alliance - contact them and tell em how it is!!! I need all the help I can get!
