A lot of my tools were my dad's. He used to engrave a little asteric star "*" on all his tools. He p***ed away when I was 8 so I get a kick out of it when I notice Im using one that was his.

Oh and a few years ago, my cousin gave me some of her Dad's tools. He p***ed away a few years ago and she was cleaning out the garage. He was in his 80's and one cool dude back in the day. He used to tinker with bicycles a lot in the garage. I love them, I use his bench vise all the time.

I have a bunch of my grand dads old tools as well as my dad's. Some PLUMB sockets etc. I have this one Craftsman short 1/2 - 9/16 box wrench that I really like. A couple weeks ago I thought I lost it. I was totally bummed for a few days, and then I found it and was completely elated.

You're not alone, I have favorite tools too.

You know how some people say, "Old cars have soul..."?

I feel that way about some of my old tools.

I have an old old adjustable wrench, when I found it in a garage sale toolbox I bought, it had some gray paint and was a little rusty, but a little PB blaster freed it up, and the more I've used it, the better it works. Still looks like hell, but I get a special vibe every time I pick up that wrench...
