Cool Coupe. If you can get that bad boy to 60' in thw 1.4's you'll be well in the 10's. how about some 4.56 gears and a 5000 stall converter? That should do it.

Thanks,I'm more worried about it hooking than anything plus I've had 4.11's and a spool in it with a 3500 converter in the past and that is no fun taching 3500-4000 trying to keep up with STL highway traffic. So I pulled the gears and stall after munching clutches in three th350's due to heat problems and all finally got sorted out so back to my 3500 stall for now till it doesnt launch hard enough! I just want a reliable, fast, streetable car to drive to the track run the number and drive home. But don't we all!

I know how that goes, loose converters and steep gears don't go well with highway cruising.

  5. I currently have two racing projects going on...but not a "DRAG" car only.

I wanna build a CrAzY drag car before summer... so I will be looking for a skin of a car or something to modify.

If anyone has something really cool, let me know. Its going to be in late fifties style I think. But I'll entertain all body styles... Pm me if you got something you wanna part with.

You don't need the bars going out of the back of the cab, this is the way Suncoast racecars build their truck cages. These pics arent the best but it should give you an idea for roll bar, or cage

Hey Glen - fun thread. I can't post pix, but you know my car (Morris Minor). Best so far of 10.32/127mph. Did 140 at B-ville in '07. Built killer 377" and went back to strip: ran 11's!!! Everything was right on, except still had old (3500) converter. Now it has an 8" 5800 stall unit - can't wait for summer! Meanwhile, I'm cruisin' town with no problems...
Every year I plan for HAMB Drags and every year something stops me (from bringing my car). Maybe '09 will be the year I finally get to mix it up with you guys...

Bumping this back up.....some of you guys have to have some progress updates? how about some cars being built for the HAMB drags in August?

I keep cleaning up some loose ends. I have my windows cut and ready to bolt in.
I also need to raise the back of the car up a little, it has settled more than I planned.

Lettered this week for our next trip to the track.

How was it building the 409, I was seriously thinking of using a W motor in my A , but the price vs. performance seemed really expensive? What do you think?

That thing is coming out sweet. Glad to see you have the knowledge to put the correct class designation on it, A/A. Makes me laugh every time I see a cool ass car with no hood or fenders and they paint A/G on it. Are you planning on ditching those modern sheetmetal valve covers or do you need them to clear the stud girdle? I might be able to hook you up with a pair of valve cover spacers and M/T covers. I painted my aluminum heads on my gasser black to match the engine block to hide their modern look. Just a few ideas. Either was it's one wild ride.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I can't take credit for the lettering, I actually contacted C9 and he was kind enough to look up the closest class description for me.

Send me a pic of the valve covers. Soemone needs to make a nice HAMB approved valve cover because I dont know of anything spectacular. The Brodix heads are still flashy too.
