mine is still in the "big pile in the corner of the shop" phase, so I didn't figure I'd even bother posting pics after seeing some of these awesome machines. It's a 29 rpu.

Hey Dave, as you know I've collected a pile of '28 CC parts. I'm either going for the Scorchik full-fendered look, or a simple highboy like that Aussie pickup from a couple years ago. I'm also going to collect as many early '28 AR parts to use as I can afford. I think it woud be fun to screw with the restorers by wasting the hard-to-find parts on a hot rod. Drum taillights and beavertail fenders, here I come!

I'll ask here since a lot of guys on here have closed cab pickups.
How do you install a front door glass into the door of a 28/29 closed cab pickup as they don't seem to be the same as tudor or coupe doors?

    That's because the '28-'29 CC/PU doors are leftover '27 Model-T doors.

Here's mine. I added 4 inches in the middle of the doors for a little more leg room, but I reversed the firewall, which effectively placed the toe board about 4 inches back towards the seat. I have a Dodge Dakota pickup seat in it, narrowed and its not just too bad, although I wouldn't want to drive it 500 miles without stopping. Good for scooting around town though.

The wheelbase is also stretched 4 inches. I have a bunch more work to do to it, but its on the road, so it will have to wait till I get another rod up and running, before I tear it down again.

I am building a 28-29. Sorry no pics (camera broke) I am planing to use a 32 frame , kicking up the back till it is parallel to the middle and 8" up. When this is done the bed rail and belt line of the cab line up and the bed has a flat place to bolt down. The axle is moved ahead of radiator and the spring is hung from the bottom of the bones. engine is a reverse flow flat 8 with a front drive blower (shaft will run through crank hole of radiator) intake through exhaust ports and exhaust out the top. Fordson tractor dual cowl steering (no tie rod) Hope you can picture all that from the description.

fiftyv8 Is the glass out now?If it is get new window runs ( i think thats what they are called, u-channel with felt) and cut them to length. Its been a long time but i think i put the back one in then glass and slid the front one in from the top last. new rubber at the top and put the molding and regulater arm back on.

    Thanks for your comments.
Yes, I have new glass that I will need to install in the future and was wonder what the easiest way of install glass into thes doors.
The doors do not have a removeable top piece so the glass can not be installed from the top.

    See the attached pic's.
I figured with so many folks built or building pickups as well as T's somebody must have done this install before.
My doors originally had no glass when aquired.
I even posted on a T Coupe thread which have the same doors and no help from there either.

It does seem that the glass needs to be put inside the door and maybe the channels slid in along each side of the glass, but that is just my best guess.

If knowledge of this install is so hard to obtain, then there must be a lot of guys like me needing to know.
