I want to do one too! Either going to be a 64-65 Coment or Falcon or a 64 Fairlane. I didn't think a Fairlane would work, then I saw photo's of one in a Fairlaner magazine. Looked SWEET!!

Check out May 2001 HOT ROD magazine for some great pics. They were building one, so maybe the following months would have more pics.

I'd go with American Racing mags if it were me. I've always liked them.

    Mis-matched wheels!
Early era style., Americans on the front, with Cragars on the back, or a little later, skinny Cragars up front, and wider slots on the rear....gotta have spaghetti headers too.

  6. Oh most definitely going to mismatch...My plan was for the Cragars in rear and Torq thurst in front or steel in rear and Torq Thrust in front...I'm prettty limited on headers, unless I can get some fabbed up at a reasonable cost..I might just go with some dump tubes coming out behind the front tires...

  7. You said you were going to Super Stock the Buick and now it's for sale. When does the Galaxie go on the blocks.

  8. The Galaxie was me and my brothers ..at first it was bought to resell, but I bought out his end and am keeping it.A 3500lb 65 4 speed FE Galaxie was meant for a Super Stock,A/FX style and is alot more practical..than a 4000 lb 63 Buick dynaflow with freeway gears!...Decsion was not too hard to come up with.Hell when I'm done playing with the Galaxie I probably will sell it too.The 63 Buick is being painted right now...

Didnt you find out that the Galaxie had a 352 in it and not a 390, or is this a different car altogether?

  10. Oh heres the story with that..My friend a preety good guy,but thinks he knows it all about every car..trys to tell me oh yeah that a 352 man,I can tell by the way it runs..and then he points at the 352 casting number on the front of the block...Well not being the FE expert at the time I believed him..and then I did my homework and found that all FE blocks have the 352 casting number stamped in the front of them!! and further more I checked the date codes on the block and heads and found the block to be a 1966 and the heads and intake are 67 which means it can only be a 390 or a 428 which I doubt very much.the 352 was dropped after 1965!! when I confronted him with these facts he said ..yeah well than its a low compression 390!! Like you can really tell that witout doing a compression test!!Come on dude!! Spare me,you just were full of*****!!and maybe a bit jealous?
the******* is a T10 though and that bites but it works for now...

  12. Damn they did have them in 66..I must be thinking of 1967 well we know the heads are 390/428...well the only real way is to pull the heads and crank and measure I guess....

  13. Damn I just pulled he front bumper and brackets off the car and man did that bring the front end up!!

heres my driver, thunderbolt style but staying small block, I might put an axle under it if I think it will take enough of weight off to make it worthwhile.

  15. ahhh yes I love it!!!!is that a glass bumper in front?? I'm gonna run the same scoop they make a complete glass hood with scoop for like $375...I took my front bumper off... the small blocks in those Fairlanes can be a lethal combo!! aint nothing wrong with that!! I would build a wicked stroker 302(347CId) for it some 4.11's and a posi..Yeah
It looks cool with the steel wheels in rear and Cragars up front, you got it right!! keep me posted on the progress of that car..
