Who's T is that second pic, I dig the visor on it. Is that the same visor as Boyd's??

I'm getting back on the coupe asap.... gonna try and hit LSR this year.. again! :D I'll be starting a new thread soon to keep me in gear and to help me stay on track!!!

  2. We'll be in the trees selling shift knobs, Chadillac. Come by and say hey. Would love to see the coupe. My frame will be hanging in the rafters at Charlie's shop, with the rest of the parts in dry storage. Good times. MAke sure and hit Mercury Charlie's party on Sunday after LSRU. It's a T-lover's paradise. Cheers!

I liked it better in its original incarnation with the flathead. It was built by V8 (Ian) here on the HAMB, and was Hard Core Rods & Kustoms(a Japanese Mag) back in like 2003. Here's a pic when I owned it. I should have kept it.

  6. Small world, gasser freak. My other project, a 29 roadster, was originally built by Ian Loska. In fact, the drivetrain of my T will be the engine and trans from that very car (which sadly got wrecked ten days after I bought it). It's now in a thousand pieces, but will rise again. Here's a pic when it was still Ian's car. I wish I hadn't wrecked it. But at least I kept it, right? Forgive the A in this post, but it does have a little context since it supplied my T's drivetrain.

You'll find shots of it in my gallery.

WOW, Very cool, Im not sure what he's up to now, but I have to say that Ian sure had a knack for making shit look cool. He also built that Ultra Low pancake Model A coupe that everyone loved to hate.
    I miss My "T" Coupe. :(

EDIT: Man, super small world. I just read your Model A blog Too bad I didn't know ya when I lived in Austin, I think we were just into the same kind of shit. I negotiated to buy the LB Tiki when it was on EGay, but couldn't come up with enough money to get Ivan to pull the ad. so I bid all I had, plus more that I didn't but was sure I could come up with. The current owner just had a little deeper pockets.
Oh, and I noticed your in Denver, I used to live there, and thats where my wife's was born and raised, LOL

Heck yea I'll stop buy.... That's cool, we were going to hit Charlie's party last year, but my buddy's truck was overheating, so we had to grab a u-haul and trailer and hit the road.

Thanks for starting this thread! Lots of great info for my Build.

Thanks. Looked all over for a year. Found this one 45 minutes from my house. I think the top is what makes a T. If I was going to chop it I would have just bought a Model A.

Do these visors bolt right up to a T or is messaging necessary?

I'm not building a T, but if I was it would be a tribute to the Roach Rod. Following the build here on the HAMB is what got me back into hot rodding. Wish I had been smart enough to buy it when it was up for grabs.

  11. This question is better answered by the Suicide Axle boys. I merely found the site.

That makes sense. I just wondered if some of the more experienced builders here would know the difference between the T and A a post. I have heard some of the doors interchange.

Here's a couple of recent pics of my coupe. I have just mocked the body up onto the frame so I could see haow it sits. Don't want it too low (Is there such a thing) so I zee'd the frame a couple of inches at the front - I like the look of the frame rails coming out of the firewall area even with the bottom of the body. After studying pictures of the car I'm building this as a tribute to, I noticed it was zee'd near the front as well. Model A style crossmember will let me use a deuce shell lined up with the center of the tires and the headlights. Trim rings aren't on the wrong side of the rim - I like to use them inside and out - just don't have enough to go around yet. The hairpins will appear to be bolted to the body but actually they'll be mounted to a tube that will run all the way through the body and frame. The body will be welded to the frame.

Also started to mock up the rear radius rod/ladder bars. These are '35 ford rears and they will have a additional tube welded to the top that bolts to the axle bracket with a clevis. The front will hang from urethane bushed 4 bar ends that are welded to tabs on the back of the transmission crossmember - always try to make one bracket serve at least two purposes - KISS!

Anyone ever heat these radius rods enough to bend the spring hanger a bit to make it parrallel to the housing. I can't get enough angle on my rear end housing brackets/ It's only off a few degees - wouldn't take much bending but it's really heavy in that area.

By the way there is also this thread you could take a look at for a variety of model T visors used.

This is a friend of mine's 26 T. It is getting upholstered this week. You might think one would be enough, Huh?

Forged spring mounts make the 35-36 rear radius rods a favorite and easily heated and bent after installation get the angle sright.

5.90x15 on the front and 8.30x15 on the back. BF Goodrich Silvertowns from Coker on chrome steels. Sorry dont have any specs for the offset. Just the standard rim from Coker. Hope this helps. VA HAMB

  25. Let's share end goals on here guys. While I save up for the drop axle front end to complete phase one of my T build, I continue to look at paint colors and obsess over wheels, tires, and stance. The Econoline van posted here is the color I'm shooting for, only in a "flatz" texture. The T coupe pictured is close in spirit to how I want my T to look. I'd be curious to know what the end goal is for some of the others on here who are building a T?

This is an older picture of my "T". I'm going thru it again and making it a little more H.A.M.B. friendly. [IMG]
