Features Who's Building a T?

Here is the current build at our house. I like the turtle deck but it has no storage. Maybe a 30" pickup bed? Where do you guy find room for the pedals, steering and your feet!! Waiting on the 289 and C4 to come home from the shop.

Raise the turtle deck on the body about 4-5 inches, just about 1-2 inches below the top of the body.
NOW you've got room for a 10-12 gallon fuel tank, a battery, and a few other things like a basic tool set(tune-up, lug wrench, etc), a tarp, some bungee cords, etc..

Oh yeah you to add, to the bottom of the turtle deck, panels to make up the lower deck portion of your increased storage. An old style method was to use a pie-cut 2nd turtle deck.

The feet thing is easy enough. Make up toe boards like "real" cars, and stock Ts, that put your feet at a comfortable angle rather than flat on the floor. Don't get crazy with the transmission hump in any direction, height, width, length. A clearance of 1/2"-3/4" is more room for YOU and your pedals and steering.

Just picked up a 27 rpu basket case a week and a half ago and currently planning my chassis as we speak.

 

Just mucking it up. Nothing is finished and I have a long way to go.

 

Un-channel the body and gain 3" of height. Every inch helps!

 

Should be no problem.

Anyone got some dash shots? I was thinking of fitting a '33/'34 Ford Dash with glove box to my coupe. Anyone done a newer dash in their T-coupe or 2Dr.???What did you fit to it??

I was hoping so, I just ordered one. Now to chop my grill shell.

 

I'd lop of a left one for those green gauges.

 

They're actually a light blue.....just a bit "patina'd"

 

In all my frenzy of freaking over your gauges I forgot to compliment the dash itself. Looks great. Is you drive train chevy?

I'm using a 40 Ford dash.

 

Okay, been watching this thread since the beginning and finally decided to throw mine in here too. A chassis, '40 Ford axle and brakes, 9" in the rear. Built in the early 80's.

I have a '57 283 with three deuces and a PowerGlide going in it, with a pair of Salt Flat Matt's headers! I'm going to use a pair of split '48 bones and do a "spring behind" moving the axle just in front of my A radiator. This way I can move the radiator up enough to get the SBC in it.

When the car was built it had a HOT 2.3 banger and 4 speed built by Wayneat on here. Wayne and I have chatted, and know a lot of friends in common.

Anyway, here's my junk....

Threw on some 15" steelies from a Shoebox Ford. Believe it or not, they were a set that had NEVER been mounted!

 

I just picked up my first '26 T body. I have a million and one questions but you have to start somewhere.

Not sure what motor and if I should run it on a stock A frame with boxing plates. I got a V8 60 with the car that has been rebuilt but sounds like it's not the best choice for motor.
