Features Who's Building a T?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Slimegreeeeeen, Nov 19, 2011.

  1. So sorry to hear about your wife, Ragtop. OT or not, get in that Vette and enjoy yourselves. And please let me know if I can help find your T a suitable new owner.

Slowly making progress on my '26 T Coupester...
Made motor/transmission mounts and engine in place..next need to finish steering and make a bracket to hold the front wishbone in place...
Been close or over 100 degrees for almost three weeks here, and no AC in my shop..so this Ol' Man is not moving along too fast..
    Cheers,
    Bob

This one is close in spirit to the color I have in mind, only I'll do darker and leave mine tall.

An Ebay score. A Buick Riviera speedometer with 18 original miles. Perfect to grace the interior of my 425 Nailhead equipped car.

Cam that was a good time fun-- I really enjoyed working-- hanging out with you and Steve. Wish we could do more of the same-- I know you wish we could so you can drive your T ! So... When is the next Austin T party ?

  7. Charlie,
I keep buying lottery tickets and they keep giving me the wrong ones. Soon, my friend, soon.

  8. Just scored this vintage kick pedal from a fellow HAMBer.
Hoping to use it in the T.

Is this your car Sinister? Very nice! Could you tell us what you did to replace or section the piece above the windsheild?

I just cut out all of it other than the top inch and pounded (welded) some 1"x1" tube inside of it for strength.....

Do you have any photos of where/how the shoulder harnesses are mounted to the chassis? Very clean work, all the way around.

  17. Superb car. Love the restrained color combo. Very very nice. Reminds me of vintage VW colors.

Not the best picture....but you can see the loops I welded to the top tube on the space frame to locate the belts when they go around the tube.

Very slick. I really like that whole deal. If a guy did this with a bench seat that had a back that had a roll at the top and flipped forward, you could flip the seat back forward, drop the shoulder harnesses down the inside of the back of the bucket, and flip the seat back into position, no-one would ever know they were there...;)

  21. T Wheel #2.jpg
Here's the wheel I just finished for my Tall T. Should have a much easier time getting my 6'5" frame under the wheel. DogDishDeluxe made the wheel. The center cap is an E-bay purchase. I did the finishing, chasing the hairline cracks and smoothing the wheel to perfection. SEE WHITE WHEEL.

Then using cherry red, dark maroon, lots of clear, and a shit ton of sanding, I attempted to make the wheel look patinaed, as if one color had worn away to reveal the other. The exterior of my T will be a dark, dark, eggplant color, and I'm going to use red and pearl white throughout the interior so as to make the interior feel bigger.

    Red T steering wheel #3 (CU).jpg

Will paint the nailhead a cherry red and do the roof in a red glitter vinyl to bring the interior color out. High marks to DogDishDeluxe on his custom wheels. I have three of them now. A little OCD perhaps.
