Features Who's Building a T?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Slimegreeeeeen, Nov 19, 2011.

  1. The left stanchion is in good shape...the right one not so much...it's bent all out of whack. I'm thinking about chopping the stanchions down (you might be able to see my tape line) and fitting the early T adjustable hinges a-la the Gabby Garrision Chevy Touring or our very own Flyin-T's touring.

I just fitted Model A door latch strikers onto my T, they work good and are available.

It's a 65 mustang V8 radiator, I just have it mounted pretty low. No problems with my other blown small block, but have yet to try it out with the new engine set up. Has never even got to 200° with the other engine. I have the biggest electric fan I could fit on it, pulls around 3600 cfm's.

Body is back off of the wife's T chassis. Time to blast the chassis, final weld, then prime and paint.

Bob has been busy, including but certainly not limited to building steering arms to clear my axle. The drop between the king pin and batwing areas didn't leave any room for steering arms.

Finally back to work on my coupe. The body is at the paint shop and I have the doors, deck lid, and grill shell back and striped. I want to thank a couple of good buddies of mine in Chatham Ontario for help with the chop, paint and stripes. Cool guys - Lionel and Al.

The chassis goes off to be blasted and epoxy primed next week then a little filler in a couple of spots and some more prime and paint. Then I can start assembling this beast for the last time, I hope. Got a high school reunion in October and it needs to take me there!

Here's a few pics of the 26/27 cowl I found. If I can ever find the back half I may try to build this one too.....

looking for some history on my T

I bought local and know the history from that guy, and I know the car was last titled in Kansas as a fresh build.... but aside from that, I have no background on this car. It has some vintage touches that make me think this car was built at some point.... long before the 90's when it was re-titled like the louvered trunk lid and frenched antennae, among other things and was just wondering if anyone has photos or history on my T.

Here are some pics (I have seen a couple pics here prior to my owning it), but still don't have much history on the car. BTW, its all steel, no glass here.

This is my T. 454 BBC, TH400 tranny, Jaguar rear end shortened 5 3/4" and a Heidts pinched front end. Plan on leaving it a tall T.

Way way too much motor, there will be no possibility of having a rad anywhere near where it should be and the car may end up looking rediculous.

But you may just prove that to be wrong :)
