Started roughing in the turtle deck. Still got a bunch of work to go to get them symmetrical, but not bad for a few hours work on the stump A82A8BA5-CE7E-49D9-A7EF-A49510ECB2A9.jpeg A82A8BA5-CE7E-49D9-A7EF-A49510ECB2A9.jpeg 6A9C3A7B-3FCF-425E-A428-9730E3AB2ABB.jpeg FC74E492-C173-4B24-80D3-F5296B38F157.jpeg

Maybe so, but you appear to be a skilled "hack with a hammer".

Your own build thread will be more easily searched and found by other in the future and easy for addicts like me to follow.
If just posted on here it will just get lost amongst all the other single posts.
Keep up the good work and keep hacking...

Dude there aren't too many people that can MAKE their own T from sheet metal.

  8. Very impressive work. I agree with loudbang, that's way beyond the abilities of most guys. You've got me wondering about building a wood hammerform, though. I've had good luck making things from wood in the past and I've got a nice piece of hardwood from a relative. Funny story to it, he decided to just burn his nice antique piano  and didn't get around to burning this piece so he gave it to me.

Ok. I will start a build thread this weekend. Have a hiccup I need to get around for getting the beads right with the wrong equipment. New equipment would be nice but not in the budget. Got to make a couple phone calls when I get a chance.

I think I have come up with a solution. Not perfect, but close enough to go to this replacement panel I picked up. Build thread coming. I promise. Just need to get through the work week. Started the build thread. Pounding out a T roadster. Getting sick so going to take it easy for a couple of days so I don’t get too run down between work and coming home to work on this.

  21. Could someone do me a favor and post the height of a 23-25 style turtle deck at the front and rear of the deck lid opening? That's about the only dimension I need before I can try to start making a hammer form.

After my cowl top arrived, I mocked everything up. Turns out there is a subtle difference between my glass body and the original. Guess I will cut it my door posts and move them. F5D4E44B-AD96-4E72-9E2A-6177E647EDFB.jpeg 6462DBA6-8768-43B1-BF58-8648375D6E79.jpeg

Door posts moved, beads rolled, head scratching and some welding leaves us here for today. 3D11EEAF-C13B-47DB-B722-27A6E34B3027.jpeg D7A23661-BBCD-4C41-AB81-F574C2E7D7EC.jpeg AE13F450-4AD7-4176-A086-65D6652E9CA6.jpeg

Doors for the body you have on your avatar are from 1926/27 T tudor or coupe and 1928/29 A pickup.
Just remember make sure you get matching hinges for both doors as hinges did change over those years and the early finger type hinges are not that user friendly.
They will also need to work with whatever A pillar you are using.
I believe hinges can be purchased new but will be spendy and the same with latches.
I recall posting a thread about these type of hinges ages ago, so if you search thru my old threads you should find some helpful info...
