Did a search and there was some mention of a few folks heading to Charlotte tomorrow (Friday).
Deuce Roadster do you have an area where you are going to be selling goodies?
Is there a meeting time and/or place set up?
I would like to meet some folks, if possible, while there.

    I was in Greenville today.......

My Dad was 83 years old today and I went up and took him to lunch.

Went by Anderson and visited with HotRodPrimer for a while.

    My Charlotte spaces are **B 94 to **B 99.

I will hang my hat at **B 94......

That's the Blue Field, backside to the fence, end of the 2nd turn of the speedway, on the pavement.

    HAMBers Welcome........

What? No $1200 '32 truck grills? No $400 Model A doors? And not even one '32 Ford/sbc that's been half pulled apart for $32,500? What a disappointment.

i saw a 39 deluxe with many features: shotgun blasts on LS, looked like bird shot, no windows intact, serious cancer on all lower fenders, oh and a stuck engine. blue sharpie written on a small sliver of gl*** where a windshield used to be: $12,500. **** the ****ing ****ers. if i had finished the chopper bicycle in time, i'd have hung a sign on it for $10,000. Z where did you see hop up?

Was the 32 tank RED ?
    I saw a fellow carrying a red one.........was that you ??

A lot of the stuff was way over-priced. The effect of EBAY.... [IMG]. I heard " it will bring that on EBAY " a bunch of times...... But A-Bomb, myself and some others sold a LOT of stuff because we were 'on the money'. No pie in the sky prices.

Saw a decent 40 Ford tudor for $7500......it sold
    55 Chevy 150 sedan..no engine......changed hands for $3250....fairly good buy.....

The weather was decent, folks had money in their pockets, some where willing to spend it.

The worst thing IMHO was the food prices. You almost had to fillout a loan application for a hamburger, fries and a drink. [IMG] So I just took me a cooler and stopped at Subway ....carried my food in......

I went early Thursday AM and met some buddies there. One of them brought that restored '34 five window coupe in turn one. A few of them left Friday at lunch so I left too. Thought about hanging out another day and finding some of the HAMBers there but I wanted to get back home to the kid and the RPU project.

I went with very little $$ so I didn't buy much or bust my *** trying to see it all.

What did I see that I liked????

    Nice '34 truck grille - $90
    Nice E&J headlights - $650
Super nice restored '36 Ford 2dr. sedan - $18,500 (sold in just minutes)

I was looking for a mid '60's Mopar steering box, a '48-'52 Ford brake/clutch pedal ***embly, and a pair of '28/'29 roadster windshield posts but didn't find any of it.

Oh well it was fun anyway... and I didn't get sunburned.

Very rarely is there any. I've looked at the last 4 or 5. Didn't go this year, saved my money for VLV. Not much I need, just want. By the way what Nailhead stuff are you looking for?

still looking for a q-jet intake and carb set up. i keep missing one on egay even the well priced ones. not in to big a hurry the motors gotta be rebuilt and the car will probably get repainted before i really start to worry about finding it. just keepin my eyes open as i know they don't come along every day. other than that finding a good 425 that i could just throw in there would be nice but i'm not holdin' my breath on that one. i don't think i'm gonna bother dressin' the mill to much it is a mild custom after all and i hardly ever raise the hood at shows and ****...ken....

Yeah the quadrajet manifolds are starting to bring a little more money than they used to. If you're on the yahoo nailhead list ask there if anyone has got one for sale. And if I run across one I'll shoot you a PM.

Good Show - couldn't find any good **** to buy. 1800 for a dented 32 grille shells and 10 bucks for a 4 dollar shift knob - please gentlemen - kiss my ***. Wait - I did score a cool stainless oil can for 2 bucks that I needed to pump brake fluid with and I got a good 65 chevy steering wheel for 40 bucks.

I saw Boones and Flamedabone and uncle mark. Good to see ya'll

Learned a lot about Model A's. Met the coolest old guys. Reverend G. Jarvis was there with his Model A hot Rod that would do 65. He also had a roadster PU and a nice A roadster. His coupe was very - it was fenderless and all A running gear. We talked with him for a while. He said it was too fast for the brakes. Super nice guy.

Then there was another veteran with an A motor on a trailer set up to run. His gig was to adapt 36 Ford trannies to the A motors. I learned several things from him about cutouts and 6v positive ground alternator conversions.

Those guys are really sharp. Man, they know everything about those cars.

Then we got to go to my wife's bosses father's shop in Marshville on Sunday morning. I didn't have my camera - I wished I did. We walked in and he was rebuilding the body of a 31 Plymouth roadster. I mean rebuilding - he had made some rollers to roll the contour into the pathc panels to match the original accent line on the bottom. The sub rails were all being refabbed. The frame was lonng - the front rails stuck out like 6 feet for hold that staight 8.
He was going all stock restoration - it would make an awesome rod. It'll be a work of art when he's done though.

OK - then we go in the front - 31 Chrysler imperial convertible, 1 of 14. 29 Caddy, 31 Rolls, 42 Lincoln continential, 1912 hudoson, big plymouth fury cross ram (he called that one a bear, I think it was a 57 can't remember), 53 ford convertible, 34 ford roadster, 31 plymouth coupe, I know I am forgetting some but these cars were all immaculate. The leather work on his interiors was amazing. He had another barn with about 10 more cars in various states ready to rework - 57 caddy convert, 56 lincoln, 64 lincoln convert, 55 chevy, perfect 31 model a sedan - **** it was awesome. I am going to have to move in and work at that shop. He has a guy that works full time for him doing his hobby.
He told us the story for every car. That would be a long post.

Anyway- It was just a good car weekend.
