who's going to winfield's this weekend.

awhile back somebody had a post for winfields workshop.i got all excited and called to sign up.i'm going YEAHHHH!.if anybody's going which hotel are you staying.

did'nt billetproof go last year.i kind of like to find out what hotel or motel is close to gene's place.it would be cool to meet some west coast HAMBER'S.

Yep, I went. FREAKIN' AWESOME! We stayed at the Motel 6. There are about 8 hotels but it was the cheapest one that was a chain. I'll sleep anywhere but the guy that cruised with me was a little pickier. The whole town closes at 9pm. I'm serious. Last call at the bar was 8:50! Bring a book or watch lots of TV.

 

i been waiting for this topic to come back up. any body know when the next one is? is it only once a year? also what skill level do you need to be at? i mean, ive all ways worked on old car junk and taken a couple welding classes. would it over my head?

 

It's a pretty fast paced class and Gene crams a ton of info in. Skill level is not really an issue. The wider your knowledge the more you'll understand but a lot of it is basics as if you know nothing. I DEFINITELY suggest bringing a camera and a notebook. I took tons of notes and photos and I wish I'd done more. Gene is very willing to answer questions if anyone gets behind or confused.

How much does it cost? If I just show up can I "audit" his class!

 

I don't think they happen on a regular basis. I think it's just when he decides he'll have time. It was only like 6 months ago that I went.

 

i think the last one was in november. i remember seeing billetproof's pics.thats what pushed me over the edge to try and go to the next one.i still never found out if any other HAMBERS were going,would'nt feel quite so alone.i feel like i know most of you,even if i don't have a lot of posts.i just kind of float around.i'm going to be out here till tuesday morning.monday i'd like to stop by marcel custom metal.after that maybe some hardcore rod&custom shop any suggestions.see you there.
