otay, i need a favor. i bought a sh*tpile of parts, tools, manuals, and hubcaps at the estate sale of an old mechanic a couple of weeks back and i'm putting the hubcaps i don't need or want on ebay, but i don't know exactly what some of them came off of (year, model). some are rambler (don't have a clue about ramblers) and some are pontiac (pretty sure they're either 49 or 50). anyhow, i've figured out i am incapable of posting pics on here, so if anyone thinks they could tell me and doesn't mind me emailing them the pics, please let me know. or actually, if one of yall wants the damn things, i'll be happy to sell them to you instead of dealing with e-painintheass-bay. thank you!!!
Well, if you have done much research you will find out that in general hubcaps aren't real valuable. Fiftys full covers and some dogdish caps you might get over 10 each for but most are going to be worth about 5 which is less than shipping. Just look on ebay closed auctions and you will get an idea.
i usally take my caps too the swap meets then when an asshole says will i take a dollar i jump on them and smash them....... the look on there face is worth more then the few bucks they bring plus you dont have too drag them home

[/ QUOTE ] well, i've had pretty good luck - thus far i've gotten $60 for one pair and $70 for another. so i'll just see what happens.
Usually anything fancy looking is going to be worth more, anything with a spinner. Usually anything that's instantly identifyable such as a '57 Chevy or '65 Mustang is worthless as repros are available. Anything that's scraped or hammered isn't worth it. I did the hubcap thing for a winter, cleaned out the local junk yards and didn't do too bad. Buy a Hollander catalog on eBay, it can help.
