or is there any earlier threads on this car that I've missed...

I can't help ya, but those front rails look mighty skinny to me. Looks to me like the front end would come up once and, on the return trip to the ground, fold in half. I'm probably mistaken. I'm no engineer, but it sure looks that way.

Elvis was cool, but he wasn't a REAL black belt in Karate, if you catch my drift.

Yep - those front rails tapering down just forward of the major c/g is a serious flaw. I cant imagine that setup surviving any kind of a wheelstand when those wheels come back down with a thump. In simple physics, as the car comes back down from a wheelstand, the engine will continue to seek the center of the earth, and that flimsy setup will be sacrificed in that quest.

Is the frame supposed to be a spring - quarter eliptical like?

There's also absolutely no room for the frame to flex. If it even hit a few good ripples in the pavement, bye bye oil pan. It may look neato, but that thing is a disaster waiting to happen. I don't want to be the next guy down the track after that oil pan gets ripped off.

Just wondering, why worry about the frame size? Are you guys ***uming this rig will be raced, or even driven at all? Gary

The man does make a point. Also, after looking closer, the engine is set pretty high. The oil pan would be ok, but the track would be grooved from the frame rails gouging into the asphalt.

I'm of the thought that the frame is probably stronger than you think...

because the span out front with the smaller tubes really isn't that long and there isn't that much weight out there.

I think it's more of an optical illusion... and the tubes look like they are a 3"x2" and tied into the larger tapered part of the frame with an X?

All of the weight is to the back where the frame rails are thicker... I guess what I'm saying is, look at 60's slingshot type dragsters they used some mighty small tubing and pretty long spans.

I also think maybe it's more of show car than a balls out every weekend drag car... I maybe wrong, lord knows I've been wrong more than once in my life....

Anyway... I still think it's one of the neatest car I've seen in a while... looks like tons of craftsmanship and thought was put into it...

I personally can't wait to see more of this car and others like it!!!

The frame is fine, Im sure the builder knows what hes doing. look at the overall quality and understand it isn't a hack job.

Cool looking indeed! If the frame rails don't give, the front spokes sure look like they would. I'd feel better with 12 spokes.

very cool. To me the frame looks like it'll be fine, I seriously doubt it will get any track time anyway.

The mounts concern me more than the rails. I doesn't appear that this car is finished though. It's got people talking and looking further and I do like that.

If there is any flex at all in those front frame horns that steering wheel will be a hand full at speed...............

That's the WEBB/TARTER Prefect. It's not for kids.. It will run this summer at the local strips (I am driving the altered that it is going to match race) Sure it looks unsafe, sure it might crash on the first p***.. but most of you who are talking that smack have never REALLY looked at some of the DEATH TRAPS and **** the raced for years under some of the BIGGEST names in the biz.. DON'T FOR A MIN. THINK, that the polished, restored jewels you see in the meusiums and at the HRR's are anything like what those cars looked like when raced.

That being said, This is a beautiful lil' race car, and like anything else.. if you don't like it and don't want anything to do with it.... LEAVE.:D

These guys are not scared.. Insane maybe.. but what the hell do you expect to die of.. Old age? How boring.

****, you think this car is scary going down a race track, go to SPRINT CAR RACE!

They get her figured out. If it breaks in half after the first monster wheel stand, they have a welder. They built it once, they can build it again.

oh, and by the way, the frame and cage have an IHRA approval stamp on them.
