I started with a 49 pickup 7RT block and put in a 52 Merc crank and rods, .30 over pistons, Potvin cam and necked down Chevy stainless valves. Rerouted the oiling thru a remote filter. Offy heads and intake, center carb is blocked off at present, running 97's. Hooked up to a S10 5 speed and the Ford truck clutch. You uncork the headers and it will make ya pee your pants.

.8BA .060 over, running 37 tranny and holley 94's with the original ignition and advance. The ignition works perfectly and a great runner.

This winters project in the works.. 59 AB with 3 bergs and a 39 tranny
Should have it started up within a few weeks. Progress pics are soon.

I'm humbled by all this fine flatty machinery! Mine's pretty tame; stock 8RT, 30 over, 2110 Y-block carb, no longer have the Fentons on it, running Red's headers.

Here's one of mine during the mock up stage.

The block was fresh from the machinist and I just had to set some shiny stuff on it just to get an idea of things to come.

What kinda air cleaner is that? Have seen it a couple of times, looks kool!

Heres mine with the old carburetors, its a brandnew, neverbefore assembled german block from the german army from 1962. Milled and relieved heads, ported intakes and a Almquist intake manifold. I run OEM heads, cause I like the looks........

46000 originl miles. Never been apart. Runs good. Oh yea its hooked to a merc, stick overdrive with toploader conversion, and runs to a 46 truck open driveshaft rear which has also never been rebuilt and runs great.

Really nice to see so many flatheads.
I have been kind of stalled on my 31 Coupe and this thread has really got me excited again.

Here is a pictures of the mock-up motor in the Coupe.

  29. You might want to do something about those water hoses? It's not a good idea to have them at an angle like that and if you do, there should be a way to back-bleed the air out of them.
