Seriously, this place has the largest collection of rolling stock aficionados in the known world. it would be impossible to pick a top 100 knowledgeable let alone a number 1.

Share the knowledge you have, that goes for photos, sales literature, and race car related stuff, stories of people and places too. Few of us will ever write a book, I'm thankful to Ryan for giving the world a place to share things.

There are guys on this forum that are experts in their field! We have oil guys, BluesForU for one, electrical guys, Crazy Steve! We are fortunate to have these experts here, to share thier knowledge! I’m just a guy from the street that shot from the hip!

This isn't rocket science fellow HAMBER'S, its a collaborative effort, of a lot of knowledgeable people and contributors on this site!

All of that being said, I would say the most helpful and open minded and based upon his experience would be a certain member that is from Arizona, you can discern who that is quite easily, from this picture.
But all that were listed on the poll, are all easily qualified, win win, everybody is a winner !

I have to agree that the knowledge base is a collective effort among a number of people on here.
Bruce Lancaster was one of our great resources because he had taken the time to put together a serious amount of reference material that he was all too generous to share. He was also a trained librarian who knew how to do research.
It doesn't take long to be able to know which folks know certain factions of the mechanics of motor vehicles well or who is damned good at research.
It also takes less time to spot the bull shit artists who throw in their two cents to pretend that they might know something only to show that they don't. If you fit that mold so be it and sit back and read rather than throwing out nonsense from now on. Some of those love to jump in when a new guy shows up with a question.

There is a short list of folks who take the time to answer who normally have the correct answer along with it being the honest answer and two of those are Squirrel and Jimmy Six. If they didn't know the answer they took the time to look it up and even if they know the answer most likely they checked their reference material to make sure before posting an answer.

Still, we have guys who can answer specific questions about things that a large number of us have limited knowledge of. Most of us with decent mechanical experience and knowledge could rebuild a 39 Ford box but there are guys who can give you step by step detailed instructions off the top of their head.
Truth be known as far as myself, even though I have right at 60 years of experience my real plus is that I am pretty good at finding correct info and then making sure that it is correct. I also know where the edit and make corrections tab is.

The smartest guy (or gal) on the HAMB is the person that can answer my question(s) at any specific time.

Its a pretty long list at this point, but I expect it to get even longer.
